I played through the SNES version of FFVI last summer (On the real cart, silly). With my recent acquiring of FF Anthology (And Chronicles), I noticed the it says "1-2 Players" on the back. I flipped through the instruction manual and couldn't find anything. How can I use 2-player on FFVI?

To use multiplayer mode, go to the config screen and change it from single to multi, then hit A and assign characters to the controlers. It only works for battles though, not the regular gameplay.

I think I'e heard this brought up before and it is a misprint, if I remember correctly. Other folks thoughts?

He is right folks, the first controller contolls all over world action. When in batttle though the controll of the characters fighting is shared. Du Du Duu, Dun Dun, Dun Dha Dah :D

Yup, I got it to work with a friend last year. It DOES work for those games but the second controler is only allowed to be used in battles and ONLY on charcters assigned to the person. Still, it's not a bad idea. Helps to bring someone else into the game who is watching/playing it with you.
