so i recently got this Smurfs cart in a trade with xenu.

problem is, i don't have immediate access to my 2600 to try it out, and the guide lists two different smurfs carts for 2600... i can't tell which this one might be.

please help me out here

"CBS?" :hmm: And a black cart case to boot. Unless it's a Colecovision cart (which would explain the black), it doesn't explain the CBS release. And the "Made in England" leads me to assume this may have been a Pal release?

Sorry, but it's still a mystery to me.

Looks like the PAL version of Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle to me.

well, i got the atari 2600 all hooked up... it boots... kind of. it plays music, and the first screen of the game... but it's constantly flickering, and no matter what i do, i can't seem to correct that... so i assume this is in fact a PAL game. can anyone confirm this?

thanks

well, i decided to check ebay to try confirming my suspicion... and look what i found:

though i have a question: "may roll on some tvs?" it's a problem with the tv?

Some US TV's can display PAL better than others. Some roll, some don't.

I checked AtariAge and I couldn't find that cart at all, they might like a scan of it.

i don't post over at atari age, but feel free to submit my scan if you want. unless they have some specific specifications for scanning which i didn't meet... then let me know. heh

If it's 'Made in England' (and rolls on a NTSC TV) then it definitely will be PAL. I have a (PAL) Donkey Kong cart with an identical label style.
And there's loads of PAL stuff missing from Atari Age - I checked my 40 or so carts against it a while back, and found that at least 75% were not shown.
