Is it worth playing GTA3 after finishing off Vice City?

I think so. It's not as refined as Vice City (not as many vehicles, etc) and the gameplay is pretty much the same, but its still a good game. If you enjoyed playing Vice City then I think you will enjoy playing this one regardless of the order.

I tried, but the improved controls in Vice City spoiled me.

I still like GTA3 more than Vice City. As far as I know, I'm the only one.

While I prefer the controls and gameplay of VC, I much prefer the layout of 3.

For that alone, I would go back and play it.

I'm doing that right now Kaine. I really like the story/mission structure of GTA 3. My biggest complaint is the lack of a full map feature as well as not having Pay N Spray's on my radar at all times. You have to memorize where things are much more than in Vice City and it's a pain in the ass.

I think GTA 3 has the better city layout, it feels more if you are in a big city. It has nice missions also so imho its worth playing even if you have already played Vice City and liked the missions.
On the other hand, the soundtrack, the "cool" miami vice look, the better controls, the helicopters and the !!motorcycles!! make Vice City the better game to me.

But you sure won't be disapointed by GTA3 (for sure when you buy it cheap :D)

If you don't want control issues, buy it for PC. I had a hard time with the controls on Vice City because gta3 on pc worked so well.

I like 3 way more than VC. The missions are better in VC and the motorcycles are great but GTA has a much better feel to the city and the jumps (my favorite part of the game) are WAY better. Vice City is flat with no change in elevation, 3 has hills that make for great jumping. I still love VC but I go back to 3 way more.

Vice is a good update on 3, but 3 is at least trying to be original. anyone with half a brain can tell that the game is just an update with a story almost completely based off of Scarface. If I wanted a scarface story, I would want to play a game based on the movie, not a game that is being a mock-up of the movie. There are so many easter eggs in vc that are basically yelling out that the game is a mock-up of scarface. granted, the story in 3 isn't very original at all, but at least, from me not finding easter eggs like in vc, it doesn't try to be like a movie.

Well I dunno if most people started making the Scarface connections with VC from the beginning.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I disagree about it being a rip off of Scarface. I think Rockstar reveres (sp) the movie and wanted to pay homage. I think it's a sincere effort at flattery. Also, they licensed the music of Scarface for GTA3.

What music from GTA3 was from Scarface?

Yeah, listen to it. I think it's on the Flashback station. There's a group of songs that all come from Scarface.

Flashback FM with Toni

"Scarface (Push It To The Limit)" - Words and Music by Giorgio Moroder & Arthur W. Barrow
"Rush Rush" Words and Music by Giorgio Moroder & Deborah Harry
"She's On Fire" Words and Music by Giorgio Moroder & Peter Bellotte
"Shake It Up" Words and Music by Giorgio Moroder & Arthur W. Barrow
"I'm Hot Tonight" Words and Music by Giorgio Moroder & Peter Bellotte

All of the above are from the Motion Picture Scarface
? 1984 UNIVERSAL ? MCA MUSIC PUBLISHING, A DIVISION OF UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, INC. / ASCAP

I took that from another site.
