View Full Version : Tallest/largest amount of things you can fit in a console?

I was thinking about this earlier... what's the tallest amount of things you can put in the CARTRIDGE PORT (Meaning bottom attachments like a Sega CD 1 don't count) of a system? Just curious... here's the best I could come up with:
Kirby's Adventure
|
Game Action Replay
|
Game Genie
|
72-to-60 pin adapter
|
Famicom

And I didn't even think of one with the Genesis... don't forget to add on the Xband modem!

Genesis-32x-Game genie-Sonic&Knuckles-Power Base Converter-any SMS cart.

or to keep it strictly Genesis: Genesis-Game genie-Sonic&Knuckles- Virtua Racing.

Well... yeah, but... new rule: No redundancy, i.e., not having more than one of the exact same thing.

The Xonox double enders stick out of the 2600 pretty high.

Lol, some of these aren't working combos tho. You can't use a Genesis Gamegenie with the Power bae converter and using a SNES Gwith a super GB doen't really work either (ok, so it slows it down, but that's it...serves no real purpose).

My N64 console copier sits on top of the N64, and has a slot for carts on the top of it. Therefore:

Cart
Gameshark Cart
Z64
N64

... would be fairly tall.

Thanks... I've got tons of little neat things like this that I did a while ago sitting in my Anigifs folder. Figured Egbert wwas getting old anyways.

snes super gameboy
gb game genie

Keep in mind that if you're using a classic GB Game Genie with a Super Gameboy, then you need to use a "Super Gameboy to Game Genie Adaptor". Camerica actually sent these things out to people who complained that the GG didn't fit into the SGB. It'll add a good chunk of height onto that.

What's the tallest that people have actually TRIED? Have any of you actually tried the above combinations? I'm betting a lot of them won't actually work. How many Game Genies can you stack before they actually interfere? (I was told once that you could actually get slow motion this way... never tried it though).

They did? I know they sent the NES2 adapter out (psst, add that to the hright!), but I've never heard of them issuing one for the super GB. Another 3rd party, however, did, and I own one. It's quircky..you have to pull it up a millimeter or so to get it to work.

Now, don't forget that when you add your 72-60 pin converter to also add a 60-72 pin converter!

This makes me think...can you use a gamegenie on the Famicom disk system (add that on the height too!!!)?

I've done the following:
Knuckles Chaotix
|
Game Genie
|
32x
|
Sonic and Knuckles
|
Genesis 2

You can switch S&K to be after the GG... but as I have it listed, you get screwed up palettes and a game crash a few seconds after nitially loading.

Genesis-32x-Game genie-Sonic&Knuckles-Power Base Converter-any SMS cart.

Throw an Action Replay and a convertor cart in the middle there aswell. And I don't see why it can't all be sitting on a SegaCD1, really ;)

Or hell, have it all coming out the front of a Mega PC to stab yourself in the stomach with the largest horizontal tower ;)

heh heh heh. The well has run dry, hasn't it? Good.

Well... This is an interesting topic. I would answer, but Querjek's avatar is hypnotizing me...

P.S. Don't forget NES -> Famicom adaptors, etc.

Also, I'd be curious to see how long people have gone with controller cords...

BEST...TOPIC...THIS WEEK.

Seriously.

Now, let's see some people try this stuff and get some pictures going. I'd love to see some of these combos. Extra points if you can actually play a game with all that junk hooked up. LOL

i remember some guy on RGVC hooked up a xonox double ender cart to 2 2600 jrs at the same time, both games were playable and the set up sorta looked like a TIE fighter.

Best I've ever done is a Genesis-32X-Sonic & Knuckles-Pete Sampras Tennis w/2 controllers sticking out the front of that cart :)

The charming thing about the casings for the GB Game Shark and Memory card is that they invert the direction of the flow. You'd have this massive stack turn 180º downward, and then turn back upward again.

Dude,

You still could have put the converter on to make the GB Gamegenie fit, heh heh.

Also, some of that starts going down hill, right? I mean the connector for the memory card faces down, right?

Right, but the Gameshark flips it right back around again. ;-) I'd love to actually see what that would look like...

anyone know if there is a cart-in-the-slot heigh difference between the Model 1 & Model 2 Genny's?
