I posted a picture of this guy in the NECG thread, but I wanted to get a little (if any) discussion going on it outside of that topic. So, here's my new Samsung Gamboy console that I obtained via trade at NECG last Sunday:

I know all the general info on this guy: Korean, has FM chip goings on, etc. Note the independent 3D glasses jack on the front, next to the card slot - pretty funky. I'm curious if anyone else has one, has some oddball information about it, knows if it will work out ok on a standard US TV, knows if it will play Mark III carts seamlessly, or has some relatively cheap Mark III carts to sell or trade. That was mouthful, eh? My new favorite SMS-related item wants some attention, so what do ya know?

That's just the Korean version of the Japanese Master System.

It'll play Mark III/Sg-1000 carts, Sg-1000 cards, Mark III cards, and US SMS cards.

So it will play Jap carts but not US/Europe ones? Oh well. :)

That's because Mark III carts are a different shape and plug into a different cart connector than the SMS.

It's a legit system as far as I know it's the Koren version of this one:-

This is the Euro/PAL version note the slightly different shaped cart slot.

Yup, she's legit.

So I powered the system up tonight (obviously with no game inserted) and it was actually pretty sweet. Sega logo at the top of screen with "Master System" underneath it, then followed with a mess of Asian text. Backing that is an arrangement of blinking stars, while the bottom of the screen sports a scrolling Space Harrier landscape. The great theme music plays in the background. I watched this screen for about 15 minutes in glee, seriously LOL

Anyway, no built in games to my knowledge (including no success with the button combo for the Snail Maze game.) So, now I need some games. I know these Mark III and related carts aren't exactly cake to find, but eBay comes up terribly short. Anyone with a game to spare or a nice lead?
