Well, this isnt anything from ebay...but i think it qualifies for this category....
I went to goodwill today and on my way out, i spotted in the display case a gameboy (original grey) with three common games and some other stuff (magnifyer, battery pack, ac adaptor and something else i forget, but nothin special)
So i asked to look at it ...only then i noticed the price tag-$80!
Unbleliable:p
Thats a pretty insane price for goodwill, but i printed some auctions off of ebay and im hoping to haggle the manager down tomorrow morning.
Anyways, whats goodwill doing?;P

I don't know about other Goodwill's but that price is not out of line with the Goodwill prices in my area (Portland, Oregon). The Goodwill "Superstore" near me has a loose Super Nintendo controller in their glass case priced $24.99. I think they are on CRACK!

Matt and I have found it a total crapshoot. From unbeleivably cheap uncommon stuff, to dirt common loose beat up Atari games for 4$ a piece and higher.
When it's sky high, and it's something I want, I console myself with the thought that at least it's safe there. Not going anywhere! You can visit it every week, like it's in your collection, and they just store it for you. :D
I did this with a 3DO FZ-1 for about 3 months at a pawn. It's mine now!

That's not to out of line with most goodwill stores. The price of electronics is based on what the store manager thinks it's worth. So if the manager was poor as a child and older than 40 (and female) then the electronic prices will be insane. Last week there was a really crappy browning original Mac there. The manager of the store is a 50 year old black lady who is always chatting with 5 other ladies who don't work there. Anyway, I go up to her and ask how much and she says, "that computer? $100.00" I say I'll give her $20.00 which was a generous offer for this mac in it's condition but I needed the parts. they all giggled like I had just tried to offer $20.00 for an actual internet ready computer from the 90's.
The other store in town is run by a 30's white lady and she sells me nes games for .99 and once sold me a box of 500 brand new 5.25" ds/dd floppies for $2.50..
