This (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3082986738&category=3642) cable is the required componet for a loose 32x, right? I really hope so, 'cause i just bought the three that were avaliable in this auction. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure this is it. Good haul, too bad it's only the one for Genesis model 2

Considering all the people out there who put 32X's on eBay without any of the cables, there must be tons of these things sitting around.... of course, their owners won't remember what the goofy cord was for, and probably threw it out after eBaying their loose 32X.

The auction says:

"This is NOT a genuine Sega product!"

I find that very interesting. What is the likelyhood of a 9-pin Mini-DIN cable being manufactured specifically for the Genesis/32X? This guy has probably found an alternate cable. Time to investigate further.

I was currious about this as well. I just hope that they work. Of course if they are identifyable as a part from something else that just happens to work, I will spread the word. Perhaps this will increase the likeleyhood that these can actually be found.

Unfortunately I'm on the other side of the planet....

These cables arived today. They appear homemade using cat-5 cable and din connectors. I dont care as long as they work. Ill go home tonight and try them. Will post again tomorow with the results.

The purchased cable is the grey one. The other cable is a sega rf cable used for DIN-side comparison. I am happy to report that the cable works just fine, however the DIN connectors are a bit snug. Any questions?

Hmm, I would imagine that these could be made rather easily if you could find the din-9 connectors. Din 8 is pretty common, but 9? Anyone know anything that uses Round (not 4-pin-over-5) Din-9 connections?

Well, There we go, folks. With that part and some cable, one could relatively easily make these. All we need is the pinout.

This is just an assumption, but wouldnt the pinout just be pin to pin? I dont know why they would change it. Then again I aint to smart. ;)
