Hi Folks,

Thanks for you help in finding a GBA flash cart:

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30108

This unit is great, but it does not allow one to dump GB or GBC carts (I didn't know this when I bought it). I have a few protos I need to back up and some roms I wanted to hack and I was hoping you folks could give some recommendations. Basically, I would need to be able to dump and write GB and GBC roms to the cart.

Thanks so much!

Yours,

Rob

Seriously? No one has an idea on this? I'm sorta surprised considering how fast my post on the GBA cart got answered.

Ummm, pretty please? :-)

They sell a bridge that you can buy and use the link that you already have. I don't know where you could get one.

I thought the bridge was only for mini programs to fit in the GBA memory... can anyone clarify this? Also, that doesn't help for my protos. ;-)

I forget what the bridge does, but its a waste of time.

There is a GB Mono emulator for use with GBA Flash carts. The emulator is called GOOMBA. more info on that can be found at www.gameboy-advance.net.

as for GBC games, there's no current way to play them on a GBA cart, unless they are GBC games that you can play on GB Mono (like pokemon yellow, tetris DX, etc). The Zelda GBC games are some of the only few really worthy GBC games that one may want - but I guess that's why I just went out and bought them, they are zelda after all.

I hope that helps you a little bit.

Also, the SNES emu for GBA has been relreased in early beta forms, it works, not much sound support, but it IS SNES emu on GBA. Its not great for playing the games, but its an excellent accomplishment - I bring this up b/c if SNES emu is possible, then GBC emu must be possible...

Yeah, I've heard of Goomba and it's just not what I need. I don't really care about playing r0mz on my GBA, I just wanna backup my protos and maybe some rom-hacking. I know I cant use a GBA-sized cart....I'm really looking for a flash cart for GBC and GB. Naturally, it would work on a GBA, but I really don't care about that.

Are there any reliable GBC flash carts/readers out there?

This item looks like it would do the trick:

Any opinions?

Thanks!
