At my local Gamestop,(the one on Monroe st. for those who live in Toledo), there was a little standee sign that said they were no longer accepting trade ins for: Genesis, NES, SNES, N64, and Sega Dreamcast Efective 3-22-2004. The local EB did not have this sign up though.

That is kinda the pits. They have marked down a lot of their older games. Even the pricey ones that were behind the counter were marked down. N64 assc. were marked 50% off.

Anyhow, I scored 2 PAl copies of Shenmue 2 for the DC. 19.99 a piece, after the 30% off, 15.02. That includes tax. I kept one for myself and traded the other away to a friend. I also picked up Crazy Taxi, NFL 2k1, NBA 2k1, and Baseball 2k1 for 1.99 a piece.

EB and GameStop are two different companies, naturally EB wouldn't have the GameStop trade-in sign posted. :) Most GameStops stopped taking the old games in as trade at the end of February.

Heh, woops. I meant Babbages.

Damn, I don't go there for a few weeks and see what happens. Sorry to post old news.

Is your Gamestop at a Mall or a Strip Mall? I heard those ones were phasing out the older games, and only the stand-alone Gamestops would continue carrying them.

For me th is is actually a good thing. Dreamcast stuff is turning up at the pawnshops all the time now. Now I can buy good SNES games at descent prices. No way am I going to pay $20 for a common game made 10 years ago.

Ya. I will never pay lots of money for a game made that long ago. I hate how gs jacks up the prices!! :D
