i got my gba pre-modded with the afterburner a couple week ago, and id only been able to play a couple time just while sitting around the house. but yesterday it got the true test, when i played it on the ride home from wisconsin last night. i gotta say, it was amazing what the afterburner does for the gba. i have the digital dimmer installed, so i turned the brightness all the way to off, and i couldnt see a thing, but with the afterburner at full power, i was playing castlevania hod with no problems seeing. if you have a gba but dont have the afterburner mod, get it now.
