I've seen a few ebay auctions where the seller states that the longbox game he's selling is mint, still in the original shrinkwrap. I honestly can't remember if these things ever HAD shrinkwrap. I know the plastic cases did, but what about the other kinds? The only longbox game I ever bought new was King's Field and I have no clue if that was shrinked or not.

Soooo...anyone remember if they had a shrinkwrap or some other kind of covering?

Yes. They were shrinkwrapped.

Yes, I believe they were as I just got Twisted Metal 1 and it seems to have been in shrink wrap (or the seller did a good job of rewrapping it)

Speaking up because i still have access to a few sealed longbox titles...

Yes they were/are sealed. My Romance IV LB is sealed with the "soft" type shrink wrap (much like the Saturn games, though it feels a little sturdier) with a seal seam on top and bottom... Also the Defcon 5's that ive seen as well as an NHL 96/97 (of some kind) were sealed in the same way. My local indy store still has A Romance IV (i think) and a few Defcon5's... which i think one of which will come home to my collection and stay sealed cause i'd just feel bad opening it (which may mean that i'll have to buy 2 of em).

And here's another "Yo." These were the Sega CD/Staurn boxes too (right?) and I remember distinctly those were shrinkwrapped as well.

Well, I can't be of much help anymore.

I picked up a bunch of assorted Long-Box games a few months ago and a few were wrapped.

I assumed they were new.

Then I got to opening them and some were noticeably used. Some missing manuals. So this brought me to the conclusion that someone RE-wrapped them. Probably EB as that's where I got them. (Haven't had any more Long-Box games since. In fact, I haven't seen ANY LB games since I did my rounds that day.)

I was disappointed that I was missled. But no big deal. Though, I still have some Sega CD games that are wrapped and it's making me wonder about them too.

For sure! I remember cracking open my Rayman and RidgeRacer on launch day. I also have sealed versions.
