Most people by now have played Final Fantasy II for the Super Nintendo. As a very young teenager, this game captivated me in ways that very few ever had, with an intriguing storylike and lovable characters. Also, there were many secrets in this game that were either poorly documented or just hinted about in the insturction booklet enough to get you curious.
A good friend and I had been playing through Final Fantasy II simultaneously when we began finding odd references to items in the back of the instruction booklet. Since were were looking for ways to add replay value to our favorite game, we decided to use three-way calling and ring the official Square consumer hotline. The guy we talked to was nice, but he seemed ultimately surprised that there were two teenagers on the line instead of one!
We talked to this guy for a good twenty or thirty minutes, and he released all information without a fight. Lo and behold there were literally forty or fifty secret items in the game that we hadn't found! He even told us about the legendary Pink Puff, and to this day I believe my friend and I are the first American gamers with no relation to Square that knew about the Pink Tail.

I actually have another consumer hotline story about Lemmings which is pretty funny in retrospect, but I don't remember anywhere in the rules what it says about number of entries. So I won't post it just yet.
