As far as PAL ones go, they are starting to appear gradually!
Space Channel 5 Part 2 is an obvious rare, as it never got a UK release.
I had five copies of that in work all pal, they did however get recalled by the publisher about two months ago.
hmm, I'm looking for a PAL copy of that game - who has a spare one? 8-)
Rare PS2 games? I'd say that right now there are only a few PS2 games that are higher than R3!
Pretty much every PS2 game is reasonably easy to find except Rez and Gitaroo-Man. But there are several others that seem like future rarities.

It is interesting to try to guess which games will be rare when the console is still in production.
As someone noted earlier - Atlus games are nearly always rare. I snapped up Growlanser Deluxe a little while back, and I'm happy that I have copies of Disgaea, LP Tactics and Phantom Brave. Trying to grab the older PS1 Atlus stuff can get expensive, so I've tried to get the PS2 now.
On a side note, I found a Gitaroo-Man in a pawn shop for $10 a couple of weeks ago. I nearly fell over the counter when I spied that one.

Let's jump back on this topic.
It seems as though Gitaroo man & Rez are on this list no matter what. Whether it's an R5 or above is a differenet story. Not sure how they will calculate that. Did anyone notice that gamestop has increased their price of a used Gitaroo Man from $16 to $24. They increased alot of prices on some of the harder to find used games within the past 6 months or so, including PSX titles, but I digress.
Ring of Red is also somewhat hard to find, but it hasn't seen the insane price increases at least on the ebay market.
In case no one has checked recently, a quick comlpeted ebay search yields a BRAND NEW Rez going for about $99 to $125.

A brand new Gitaroo Man is seeing about $90-$110 as well

As for the Rez re-release, check the thread posted about that in this forum if you dont' know what's going on.
I just wonder what the print run is on these games. That factory along with demand really has alot to do with rarity.
Anyway..just trying to keep this thread going as I'm sure we'll have to consider it down the line as time passes us by

I bet most people don't think so , but I'm sure ZOE 2nd runner will be rare. That game was on and off shelves so fast... I have the game and love it though. One of my ps2 fav's.

Those are rare? Most of them you can buy new with no problem. The only one that I'd say that is hard to find on that list is Mister Mosquito and MvC 2. And I see mountains of used copies of Parappa 2, Mad Mastero, R-Type Final, and Oni whenever I go into EB/GS.
Rez and Gitaroo just got a reprint, ya know.

Damnit. Where's the edit feature?
I was just going to add that since Rez and Gitaroo got the reprint treatment, I'm going to put my money on Firefighter F.D. 18 to be the new big-money PS2 game that everyone will want now. Was going to say Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne games but realized they'll probably get reprinted soon since Atlus has been on a big money printing kick lately.

And I haven't ever really had trouble finding either of the Digital Devil Sagas at any of my EBs/Gamestops. Nocturne is a bit shorter on supply, but you can get it reasonably cheap online.

Is the Rez reprint confirmed? I know some website is selling it all of a sudden, but is there something official on this? I'd be really surprised if that were the case.
EDIT: Here ya go Chris, this is a link to the thread that has the link to the site that's selling Rez. Allegedly.

Why is this getting good money? I found a post by kevincure saying the following:
"World of Outlaws for PS2 - not really popular among our circles, but *very* popular and hard-to-find in certain "less-urban" areas of the country. "
Is this true? Inquiring Port-n-Achi's want to know.
