I Gave Away My NES This Week...

This week, I finally did something I'd been planning on doing for a few months, sent my NES off to an online friend. She's not what you'd call a hardcore gamer...she's on my cat list and entertainment lists that I run...she also happens to be 60. She used to have one but her old boyfriend took a lot of her stuff when he split and she had to sell it for food. It's not that she's destitute or anything...since then she's managed to get both a GBA and a GameCube though I'm not sure how many games she has for both. I sent her my top-loading NES and all the games I had for it (about 90) and all my NES controllers. She e-mailed me that it arrived today and she's already playing an old favorite, Kickle Cubicle. I'm not asking her to pay for it though she is insisting on at least reimbursing me for the shipping costs. Some would say I'm crazy for just giving such a system away. I feel pretty good about it, actually. :D

That's cool... there's always more NES stuff out there, so it's not like giving away a NeoGeo or SuperGrafx or something.

I know both Roger and the gal he gave the stuff to (from an online gaming list we all belong to), and I can say they are both great people. That was a super nice thing for Roger to do for her, I know she appreciates it very much. I think she will make good use of it also, it would be a pity if it collected dust after all that! Congrats to you Rog, on a very nice deed!

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll be giving away consoles I own now when I get older, but to my kids (assuming they want them). That's why you buy (at least) two of all the rares ;)

Well, I'm not sure she'll like every game and there are some similar ones...for instance, I know there's probably at least 8 baseball games in there...Baseball Stars, Major League Baseball, Basewars...
