View Full Version : Thoughts/questions about using a Japanese PC on US power

Said system is the Sharp x68000, which I hope I'll be getting soon. I hear that in Japan you get 100 volts, and here you get 120 -- lots of folks do just fine running their Japanese consoles on US power, but as the x68000 has a finicky power supply I don't want to mess.

So, does anybody know where I could get a good 120 to 100 volt transformer? That'd be great.

Second question would have to be...would anybody have anything to say about getting that power supply replaced before it goes bad? (http://nfg.2y.net/nfg/x68repair/) It looks like a relatively detailed operation, but might be worth it, hmm...(of course I'd have to get a Japanese ATX PS... @_@)

Thanks to NeoGeoMan for not totally kicking my ass for saying he "ain't cheap."

It seems that I should be able to run this machine on the mains here in the US, that's awesome!
