playstation discontinued?

well i took a 2 month break off colecting...and while reading some future release lists..i saw no ps1 games on there..so has the ps1 been discontinued?

Thiers still a few trickling out, I just seen MLB 05 today, and alittle while ago Celebrity Deathmatch had a Dual Release on ps2 and Ps1

Seriously though, it would make me sad to see the PS1 finally gone. But it might be a good thing as all thats coming out for the system nowdays is low budget junk and sports games.

Not yet..... Come on Queen, its getting easier since so few games are coming out ;)
problem is that no one can easily track them down beause the releases are so scattered.
This month should have Cat In The Hat, and possible/probables include Neopets (SCEA/June) and Madden '05 (EA/August), with a few other sports titles for good measure???

it's not discontinued yet, i'm working at a Media Markt (biggest european electronics retailer) and we get new PS1 games once in a while, not many though, and we are lucky if we sell 2 games in a month :p

Only reason PSone is still out is because it's dirt cheap. When the [Gamecube] drops to $50 or the PS2 drops to $100 the PSone will not be needed..

My guess is once they stop making new games for the PS1, and/or when the price of the PS2 drops down.

As for the Playstation discontinuation, it's not a big deal to me. They've had a nice long run.

I went out and bought MADDEN 2004 and NASCAR THUNDER 2004, they better not have new versions! :lol

Otherwise I wasted my money and will have to sell these and buy the 2005 editions (I want the LAST version).
