It's out now. It's also highly disenchanting.
The camera control is terrible.
Rendering errors are numerous. (Misplaced shadows, stretching worms, text boxes, etc.)
Control makes no use of the analog features at all.
Worms is just plain cumbersome to play in 3D.
The menu system is absolutely terrible.
I think Team 17 should have stopped with World Party. Worms Blast was also a festering pile of shit, and this is only a slight improvement. Oh, and the Gamecube manual suggests you can't do multiplayer games with more than one controller. If that's true, then it proves how rushed this really was.

It was released at $30, so thats not too bad.
I loved Worms, I loved Worms 2, I loved Worms Armageddon, and I loved Worms World Party. But this is just far too clumsy to attract new players to the series. It's only playable if you're extremely familiar with previous Worms games.
I'm almost afraid to see how the Ninja Rope handles in 3D...

This is the Gamecube version. The PC release might not have such an ugly interface, since it isn't so limited on input. And they'll always be able to just "patch it later". :-/

I reserved my copy for X-box. The special edition one. That works with X-Box live. I am looking foward to trying it, these games are lots of fun.

I disagree with this post. I bought the game today, and while there are graphical errors "at times", the game itself is more than I expected. The graphics are smooth even if they have a "in my case", slight hiccup now and again. The water looks great, and the whole game has a smooth look.
The camera can be sticky "at times", and the accuracy of shots could have been improved with better aiming structure "though first person when shooting is great", but the game itself feels very much like "Worms".
The ninja rope takes a while to get used to. Push down when going down, and up when up to get momentum, left and right is a little more tricky, but i'm still working on it. You can Ninja Rope over objects though which I find great. The best secret to ninja roping is jump first then attach the rope.
There are great moments in this game as well that all fans will appreciate.
Launching a homing pigeon is just awesome, and explodes with great impact as well as the holy "hallelujah" hand grenade which when placed will make the targeted worm go into a praying stance. Other weapons and worm expressions make the game feel great as well, and just like a worms game.
It isn't as tight knit as the other worms games, but then again it has alot more complicated structure. For what it's supposed to be i'm pleased, and it's every bit a worthy Worms sequel, imo. Well worth the $29.99 price tag.

If anyone has it on XBox, please post your impressions of that version as well. I was dying to get it on over Live with this one... However, Pandora Tomorrow will probably occupy my time for the next several months regardless ;)
