My weekend find...and I need some info....

I stumbled across an Atari 800XL computer yesterday at a thrift for $10. It included the power supply, switchbox, unit, 2 booklets, as well as the bottom styro.

Judging by eBay it appears I got this for a typical price. I couldn't find anything about this in DP7 though. What is the rarity value on this?

Also, what the heck is it? :)

It appears to be, and what little useful info I googled tells me that it is a C64 type device. The slot on the top looks similar to the 2600 cart, although is smaller. In addition to the cassette/diskette based games were there cart based games (besides the programming cart) as well?

Also what joysticks are used? [eBay] People claim that 2600 joysticks will work, when they simply will not fit. Is there some sort of adaptor I need?

This was my first game machine and probably my favorite. You need to buy different smaller cartridge for it that are for the "Atari Computer System". You can also hook it up to a 1050 floppy drive and play games of the disk by booting them up in the dos os.
