Xbox Next?

I was adding games to my IGN.com list today, and as usual they have the system listing and for some reason they add systems that aren't released yet. They have Playstation 3, Nintendo DS, etc....then I noticed...Xbox Next

Xbox Next?

This may be the new working title of it, or the title period. It may not be Xbox 2 as so many people seem to think.

What's your opinion on this?

Xbox next and Xbox 2 are horrible names. M$ needs to come up with another name.

I like the other name thats not used at all anymore the NeXtBox... doesnt sound quite as dorky.... But think about it, the name is going to be something close to that, got to make the consumers put the correlation up between the old one and the new one... And i dont hear anyone complaining about the drab sounding PS3 followup to the amazingly named PS2.

I remember people saying that the name Xbox was stupid back before it was released also. I wouldn't put anything past Microsoft when it comes to names. Maybe they'll take a note from their OS's and Office products and call it Xbox 2005 or whatever.

Still, by far my favorite name for a videogame system would be the Sega Dreamcast. It just sounds so... Serene.

They should go with NeXtBox, and start calling the case a "pizza box."

problem with the Xenon is that it sounds too much like Pentium's Xeon chips, which the Box wont have.

Same goes with me, Ive been calling it the NeXtBox from the getgo. And to boot it does sound a lot more fluid than the XBox Next... To me that sounds like someone is asking "Can I play the XBox Next???" as if they'd already been playing something else before it. And poor MS doesnt want other people playing OTHER systems before playing theirs.

it feels kinda like saying.. "hey you wanna go play the Sony Playstation 2"


also i think JagDiesel called it the "Nextbox" first.... i thought i did lol.. then u said u did, so i had to look... and it apparently was him..

@Pango: You know, I could say the same thing about Sony. I wish the whole Playstation craze would dies out. Is there any sign of that? Don't like the system, don't use it! You say it as if Microsoft is coming to your house and begging you to buy an Xbox.
