don't know if anyone's ever made reference to these but damn that looks good. what a shame it was never released.

I wonder if virtual boy protos exist in collections (apart from the few famous ones)?

Looks cool if should have been released. Maybe it would have saved the Virtual Boy.

I sware I played Wario Land on the virtual boy somewhere. I think it might of been a store demo or something.

You probably DID play Wario Land, it was released. MARIO Land, however, wasn't released. :)

I believe that if Mario Land, Mario Kart, and Donkey Kong Country 2 were released, the VB may have lasted another year.

*sigh*... the whole Virtual Boy was a case of "what could have been". If only everyone had been more open-minded and colorblind, the machine would have been a success.

Our eyes, however, may not have. ;-)

why wasnt it released? Was it just a matter of the system dying before they finished it?

I agree on the eye thing, Id rather play the green screen game boy then the Vboy...though the vboy had better games. I

Either it was an early game with those parts later tranferred to other games or my crazy eyes tell me it's faked

I really don't think that the Virtual Boy would have ever caught on to the mass market, it's more of a speicality system if anything. I mean it's supposedly a portable but the thing is just bulky to take with you. The games are good but I know many people are turned off by the 3d with only 2 colors: Black and Red. On a slightly related note, Im trying to get my friends Virtual Boy with Mario Tennis and stand, it just sits in his house but the bastard won't sell me it, he's also got Megaman x3, Megaman 7, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and a few other ones I want that are just abused and sit around sigh

Wasn't there an issue about the VB causing seizures (moreso than other systems)? Also, a few of those screenshots look like ZELDA :hmm:

Has any one come out with a multi cart for the Virtual Boy? I picked up a VB about a month ago and find myself playing it more and more. (Galactic Pinball) :D Anyway, suffice it to say I'm hooked and would love to play all the games built for this system.

Yeah, I really wish that VB Mario Land was released, and I hope that someday the proto will be found. Until that day (well, probably still after then too :) ), I will continue to make new VB games, and although it has been kinda put on hold, myself and another person are working on a Mario Bros. for the VB.

Nope, there aren't any multicarts that you can buy, although you can build one, I've got instructions on building a cart on my site, and all you need to do is add a few switches to make it a multicart.

Thanks Dogp, I will take a look at it. I'm not a great electrician but I may give it a go. :D

I think it failed because people wanted "real" 3D games instead of games that were 2D and made to look 3D. 32X, SNES FX chip and the virtual boy 3d just seemed fake. At the time I think everyone was tired of 2D and wanted something more in a video game.
