I got a PSX the first week it came out way back in '95 U.S.
and my fav system the Sega Dreamcast on launch day 9.9.99
what are your luanch day stories?
I know prob been done many times before but Im sure there are many gamers out there who havent sounded off on thier rememberences of getting thier fave systems on the day they were released. :)

the only console I ever bought on launch day (of sorts...) is the GBA SP. I bought my first SP (the Cobalt blue one) on the day it came out.

i got a Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, and Gamecube on their launch days. I I think I also got a Gameboy Color on its launch day but I'm not totally sure.

I think the original thread was located in the Classic Discussions forum. I've worked the day/night of the PS2 & Cube launches...I think also the day of the GBA launch (but that was nothing special/spectacular)

I remember Best buy was selling ps2's 2 weeks before they suposedly came out everywhere else for $700. I remember seeing it on the news and it showed tons of people lined up at the front doors and stuff. I never bought a system on launch day. Just way too much money. Maybe if I liked any newer systems I would but I dont really so I wont. If nes came out next week instead of 20 years ago, id buy it on launch day.

What I meant to say is that if I was like 26 when the nes originnaly came out, I prolly would have bought it on launch day.

Sega Genesis, Playstation, Dreamcast, GBA, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. I received my NES for Christmas in 1985, but I am not sure how long it was after launch day.

No remarkable stories really. The N64 came in a few days early at TRU and I was in college, so I was able to waltz right in on my lunch break and get my pre-ordered system. Of course I couldn't afford a game, so I spent the rest of the day begging my parents to buy me one. They finally gave in, and the next day I used their credit card to buy (what else?) Mario 64 after I finally tracked it down at Sears (where their video game "section" is a dark corner of the store). The Dreamcast I bought with NFL2K, and waited in line most of the morning at EB. Most of the line was cool, but unfortunately the people in my immediate area were morons.

I ordered both the PS2 (no games with it since I received several to review on my site) and GameCube (Jet Black Wave Pack at Amazon with Wave Race and Luigi's Mansion) online, so I had to only endure the agony of waiting an extra day or two for those to arrive.

i preordered the dc with powerstone and i waited outside of best buy for 12 hours with some friends for the ps2.there was something fun about being there for so long at night with 100 other people,i bought my neo geo pocket and had fun.
