There already was a successful series of 4-D games.. in 1991

4-D Boxing and 4-D Tennis.

Great games too, especially Boxing. :)

The fourth dimension is time so, in effect, all 3D games are actually 4D. :)

Prince of persia is my favorite 4D game so far...

(The 4th deminsion is "time and space". 3D is "where". like height, width, area, and so on, like say you were going to meet someone on the 22nd floor of the office building downtown (3D) and then ud have to tell em what time on what day (4D). Im a big nerd with stuff like that LOL

...but thats why blinx is a 4D game. (its a pretty sweet game til about the 3rd world, then it kinda gets old quick from that point.)

Y'know... Would Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver count? I'd have to say yes (one of the prettiest games on the Dreamcast).

your conjecture is wrong because there are more than 4 dimensions as hypothesized by einstein and later on, string theory. :-) im the man.

Hypthosized, yes. Proven? no.

In most scientific circles, the 4th dimension is time. The 5th... not really describable now is it?

when i saw the thread's title, Shenmue immediately popped up in my head.
You can stay out all day/night on the street and watch the time change o.o

God, I love that game....Is Blinx actually good?

When my friend owned an Xbox News site, he used to get games for free. And his favorite novelty was when Blinx arrived on his doorstep packaged in, get this, a Cat Carrier. He got a free Cat Carrier filled with shredded paper and a copy of Blinx to review. LOL

Yeah. I thought it was a neat way to promote a game. Too bad the carrier didn't actually have anything written on it to signify that it was for the game, or it might be collectable one day. I wonder what he did with it... I'll ask him next time I see him.

Makes me wanna open a Nintendo News site to see what they send me. ;)

Attention all nerds...stay on topic...especially if you only pretend to know what you are talking about in regard to quantum physics and quantum mechanics.

I guess the best way to rephrase this is: "Will holographic, or, "true" 3-d games ever become a more common reality?"

Probably...someday. The technology is still way too expensive for developers to care. As for the Sega's Time Traveller, it was 2-d. The 3-d effect was an illusion. Next time you play it, stand to the left or right as far as you can. You don't actually see any more of the person or scenery (like, the "side" of it). You stay fixed on the side they want you to see at all times. Correct me if I'm worng.

They will have to make the 3d outstanding for it to catch on. I bought one of those 3d converters that are suppossed to make all your' video games, movies etc. appear in 3d on your' tv. It sucked so much ass it was disgusting. Um, yeah, I'd say that's the proper way to describe it.

*warning, I have no idea what I'm talking about in any sense whatsoever*

The 4th dimension is actually a place, located on the time ridden planet of Dimension X. The planet consists mostly of rock and magma, and only inhabits 4 creatures thus far, an alien, a rhino, a warthog, and a tin can..they can only survive by living in there "mobile drilling living unit" which can move and drill through rock and magma at will.

These 4 creatures despise the 4th dimension and everything to do with it, they also despise the 3rd dimension, a larger more developed planet consisting mostly of water and spastic weather enviroments. The creatures of this planet fear the 4th dimensions beings because there always reeking havok among them out of hatrid. The 3rd dimension survives by the help of 4 amphibious creatures who, for some unknown reason, also frighten the 3rd dimensions inhabitants.

This "war" has been going on between these 2 dimensions for well over 20 years, and it looks like it will never cease.

As for the 5th dimension, there once was a 5th dimension back during the stone age. No one quite knows what happened to it, there are rumors and speculations, but nothing has been proven. The only thing we have to go by are the recorded words and actions of THIS DISTANT BEING (http://bedrock.iwebland.com/img/other/people/gazoo/gazoo_words2.jpg)
