I have been a lurker on these boards for some time now and have found them an invaluable resource for information and anecdotes to feed my video game habit. But I have a question and thought I might avail myself of the sage advice of the people here.

I am going to Hong Kong, I have been told there are lots of video game related items I might find there, from pirated games and systems, to a whole host of stuff we simply don't get in the states. I was wondering what has been your experiance? What would be on a list of things I must bring back?

Basically I am interested in a list of cool stuff, things that you can't get here (the states), can't get here at a reasonable price, or things you just plain wouldn't want to ship.

Also, if anybody has any similiar advice that would apply to say Japan, it might be useful to generate a want list for would-be game-globetrotters that might help them in their international search for good/cool videogame stuff.

See if you can pick up a bunch of GamePark Gp32's cheap.
Or even the Flu light kit for the Non-lit ones. :-P

Bring me back some Famicom games :)

But, if HK isn't PAL (I forget if it is or not) then I'd pick up a Famicom and some cheap games. And a GP32.

If you see any Treamcasts, you should get 2. One for you and one for me.

If not, I would look for Famicom systems (the System and the disk drive). Also, I would look for Hong Kong NES carts. I would buy those from you in a hot minute.

Honk Kong NES games are definitly the best looking, IMHO. They even have real pictures on games like excitebike. I enjoy the sleek look of the black box series games but the HK versions look much better.

Anyways, everybody has hit everything I know of from HK. GP32, Treamcast, and whatever other knickknacks I could find. Also, if you stumble on any of the LE dreamcast consoles.....that would be a good move as well. I'm unsure where they were all released at though...

I second the Treamcast idea. Plus you can score tons of GBA boots there too.
