Hey Guys,

I'm about three quarters through collecting for the US snes, anyway i got an "Official Super Nes Game Guide" Produced by nintendo / Nintendo power, a few weeks back and was having a read though it today when i noticed some odd games..

This is where i'm alittle lost, the following 3 games all appear in this guide, But in the "DP guide" they are only mentioned in the "Rumour Mill" as unreleased snes titles..

Arcus Odyssey
Dream Probe
Spellcraft

These 3 games (above) are in the guide and get alittle review, a small rating (graphics, gameplay, challenge etc, etc) as well as in-game pics along with the Box Art, and the release date! So did Nintendo jump the gun when printing these reviews?

This is what i'm really interested in, this game isn't listed anywhere not even the DP guide "The Journey Home : Quest for the throne" But it's in this snes guide with game pics, a review and a release date? still puzzled?!

Could anyone give me any more info, also if there's a thread about this already, sorry for the post.. ;)

;)

All four of those games are unreleased. Journey Home is listed on SNES Central's unreleased list. It would be great if you could get scans of the reviews and pics.

Hi Mike,

thanks for the info, i visit Snes central on and off, i must have missed Journey Home! My bad, i'm gunna get some scans of the games i'v mentioned, i normally use the DP snes collectors PDF for games, and unreleased titles.

And couldn't see Journey home anywhere, it was more the fact that these reviews come with pics and the release dates for the games that had me puzzled, (i know titles can be pulled at any time..)

As i mentioned it looked like Nintendo power had jumped the gun with the printing of these 4 titles..

Anyway i'll get back with a few scans later on, tonight hopefully! ;)

From what I have heard, The Journey Home was complete, but the translation was poor and the company didn't think it would sell well enough to warrent release. Someone was going to get me a scan of the Nintendo Power review a while back, but it never got to me. Arcus Odyssey and Dream Probe were never released because Renovation was bought by Sega before they were released (Arcus Odyssey was released on the Genesis). I haven't really done much research on Spellcraft.

Edit: I just found out that Renovation was also going to release The Journey Home. I am working on finding out more stuff about these games, and what happened to them after the Sega purchase.

Hey Evan 'n' Mike,

Here are a few scans, there only quick scans (pour quality) but show you whats in the guide, box art first, and the review of journey home..

Dame Sega if it where there fault we didn't get these snes titles (shit or not) it would have been more games for me to collect LOL

PS. The game Dream Probe sounds something a "Lady" might use :embarrassed: ... even on the box art there is a lady!! in a state of "Dream Probing" lol LOL

Interesting... that article you posted of Journey home has screenies from "Nuegier" a Japanese RPG that was translated awhile ago.

http://www.haeleth.net/neugier.html

...And after a quick bit of research. Heh. I never realized they were one in the same game. And cherry roms said Journey home was undumped. Although I could swear the screenies I saw in Nintendo Power were not from Nuegier... which is odd.

Well even if it's an unreleased proto-type at least it's playable.

Well, the games were completed, but they were cancelled. I imagine someone has a full version somewhere.

Was that me? Sorry that it didn't get to you. Here's the scan.
