Anyone else enjoying the crap outta this game? I picked it up tuesday, and it's a damn good thing my networking project got pushed back a week because there is no way I could have pulled myself away from this long enough to work on it.

Assault and Onslaught are downright amazing, and there are just so many nuances about the game that make it that much more enjoyable. I can only handle so many deathmatches, but onslaught and assault seem to have it paced perfectly. And the stats tracking done by atari is beyond top notch, it's downright disgusting. Check my sig for the link.

Plus, is seems there are a couple easter eggs in the game as well.

Check the link at the bottom of the post too... funny stuff.

ALSO, this game is supported by Xfire, perhaps the greatest invention in the history of online gaming. It's like AIM for online gaming nerds, and you're only one click away from joining your friends in an online game when you see them playing, check it out here (http://www.flamevault.com/forums/showthread.php?s=14131f94e17f3b6ae874f14abce2b1d3&threadid=34933).

So who else is playing? Look me up on xfire (hezeuschrist) and we'll kill ;)

I got it yesterday (dvd version) only got to play for a few minutes, as I went out and drank some guiness yesterday.

I had been playing the demo online for the past few weeks, and just from that I could see the massive improvement from 2k3.

I'll probably be playing tonight for awhile, although I may watch some NCAA bball games. I prefer deathmatch, but onslaught seems really cool.

I'm so glad I got a 9800 pro. This game looks gorgeous with all settings at highest.

My name will probably be dikembe mutumbo, haven't decided for sure yet. ;)

Became addicted to Bombing Run. Joined a Bombing Run ladder with my friend's former MOHAA clan. Yay?

I'll buy it next week.

w00t, dev comments on the Easter Eggs

The toiletmobile is the "TC-5000," and a plumber came in to say that "TC" means "Turd Chaser (i.e. a person)" in the business. Funny :D

I just finished the most intense 3 hour onslaugh match ever. We won, 5-4... but holy crap, so much fun. It's so badass to be down to having your core exposed then come back to beat them down.

I know Best Buy had the DVD SE version with free Logitech headphones for $29.99.. limited time

They carry the CD version of the game for the same price though.

If you have an EB near you and a real copy of 2003 you can buy it for $39.99 get $20 off for the 2003 and a $10 MIR..

total for the full game..$9.99

How long do the bigger levels take to load up for the rest of you playing this game?

Seems like the assault and onslaught levels take a ridiculously long time to load in both 1 player and online. Also once it loads and I click fire to start, it freezes for a few seconds before starting, and is really chunky for the first few seconds, then smooths out. I'm just wondering if it's just the game, or if it's my computer. I have a 1.67ghz processor, 512 ram, 9800 pro vid card, so I don't have the best computer, but it's far from the worst.

I'm on a 2.3ghz, 1.5gig ram ddr 3500 running 200FSB 9800 pro and they take longer to spool off my HD then other levels.. Time to upgrade to those 10,000 RPM Hard Disks on a SATA RAID..

I would buy another 512 of ram butta. 1.5gig of ram is overkill for me for games but for video editing it's great. that will speed up EVERYTHING like going from 64meg to 256meg on win98 back in the 90's.

Yea, I was thinking of getting some more ram. Right now it's 512 of 2100 ddr ram, the best my mobo can handle is 2700. Maybe I'll just get rid of the 2100, and get a gig of 2700.
