I recently dug out my older DP Collectors guides for a nostalgic look back at my years of collecting. The one thing I can't seem to determine however, is the publish date for these guides. When checking DP guide #4 it has a copyright of 1993,1994,1995,1996. When was it published? I'm certain that I picked one up when it was issued. Also, The DP guide #3 has no date anywhere in it. Any help would be appreciated. I know that number 3 has to be pretty old as there are no email addresses or web sites listed. Just collectors selling stuff through the mail. Ahh those were the days. No ebay X_x

The very answer you seek lies within the 7th edition itself! Look on page 420.

The first two "guides" weren't really bound and aren't considered books. In fact, that first edition was really just a big list o' games, and it (as well as the second edition) were produced in 1993 (hence the copyrights beginning on that year).

Third edition, 1994. fourth: 1996, fifth: 1998, sixth: 2000, seventh: 2002. Pretty steady diet there. It isn't until this year that things get all shaken up with the "advance" edition.

Hope this helped. Again, page 420 (within the "books" appendix of edition 7) has lots more detail.

So by that rational, the 8th edition should be due out soon, or will it move to '05 to stagger the classic and the advanced?

2005 if we sell lots of books in 2004 :)
