Attention: I will no longer be accepting bids from eBay members with an overall feedback score below 1 and from eBay members located in Ohio. If your feedback score is zero please email for approval before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Thank you.

Now, I can understand not taking bids from those who have a feedback rating under zero, but not taking bids from Ohio? Why? x_x

Well, they do.

(Said in jest by a person who lives in that state although I am from Indiana originally, I know there are a few good people in Ohio, but I'm sure none of them are in Columbus ;) )

Maybe he lives in Ohio himself and doesn't want to have to deal with paying state taxes.

About the same thing from those who said "non-canadian bidders".

He avoids deliberately a mass of potential legit bidders from his auctions.

A non-sense to me.

Maybe, he's a real dumbass! and bid on his own auctions, and when the winning bidder doesn't pay or reply to his e-mails he thinks f*k Ohio bidders LOL

LOL

And he wonders why he keeps getting his e-mails copied back to him when he checked that he didn't want a copy.

Technically, you're supposed to pay sales tax when the bidder is in your state, so maybe he's from Ohio and wants to follow the letter of the law?

Only if you're a business with a business license.

Which reminds me something that I've been meaning to ask. couldn't the IRS investigate almost every seller on ebay and go after them for income tax evasion? Cause if they can doesn't that mean that we're supposed to be adding sales tax on every item that we sell? After all, a lot of people have thousands of transactions on ebay and make a ton of money. I'm sure the government will someday look for their piece of the pie.

You have to make so much per year to become a business...I don't know what the value is, but I'm quite sure there are several people on eBay who surpass it.

The government probably doesn't bother because it would cost more money to investigate than they would "recover"

Nice restriction ;) I would not allow people from Ohio as well. They might be Buckeye fans :P
