i just got woken up by my friend telling me they just got a email at his store about a nintendo looking gba.i cant remember all the games but there will be nintendo packaged games like mario, zelda, excitebike, xevious etc.,we finally do get our own version, and i know almost everyone has secretly hoped for this since the famicom one came out!the details are rough and maybe some of you know more about this already.i also found out last week that a certain store will be getting a halo bundle with a preview of halo2 and it will be a limited edition xbox as well.more details to follow,im sure someone will add to this.

I sure hope so. I already ordered my Japanese SMB, though. Same price as a normal game here in the US. $30. And I already bought a GBA. Damn.. But if they did do a deal in the US like that, I would seriously think about it.

I hope so.

And since I already have an Xbox, I hope they'd provide the Halo 2 Demo separately so I could try it too.

Even though I have the 2nd release famicom sp, I'll be getting the nintendo one if this is true.

Ah a Halo 2 preview disc, the same in regards to the one that came with the "Ultimate Halo Companion" or is it like the one that was in the Best Buy bundle that came with a horrible controler. This will be pointless if its a Preview disc. This would have to be a Playable Demo Disc for it to be worth their time.

If this ISthe case then this Halo 2 Demo would turn out to be in the same secondary value as the Zelda bonus discs, but if its only available in more than one format. If they try to sneak this in in a XB limited bundle only, it will fall on its face, cause I dont think that there are too many wiling saps that will dump 149 (or more) on a DEMO. I was willing to drop 20 for the last Zelda disc, and I was willing to preorder Zelda:WW for the other one. But this will backfire in the faces of MS if they think that they can bilk even more out of the 3 Million + Halo owners for the US.

That's frickin' awesome. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Personally, though, I wish they'd make a special edition Game Boy Advance that looked like the dual screen Game & Watches Nintendo used to sell, complete with the textured metal plate on the front. That would be too sweet.

Call me skeptical, but I refuse to believe this without proof.

It sounds excellent! Indeed it does, I'll be the first to buy one, but It just doesn't sound like Nintendo to do this in the USA.

Agreed.

I would think if its true that it wouldn't come out until next year and be promoted as a 20 year anniversary edition as the famicon ones are.

Nintendo is in it for the money, remember? Of course they would do this. o_O

I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet, but I would really like to see an NES-looking GBA SP. I haven't bought an SP yet but would definitely buy this one if it's actually released!

I hope if this ends up being true though, that it isn't as pricey as the Famicom GBA SP. :eek 2:

This would be great if it were true.

I have been waiting for '05 to approach so I can do a "What will Nintendo do for the 25th. anniversary of the NES?" topic. I figured something like this would be released next year.

When the Nintendo Rep was in my store the other day, I mentioned the possibility of a NES flavored GBA to her. She kind of looked at me in an odd way, kind of nodded, and said that I might like some stuff that Nintendo was going to do in the future then. I take it with a grain of salt, but she hasn't led me wrong about these things before.

Post it! What are they going to do? Revoke your gamers license? I mean seriously, it's not like they made you sign a "privacy agreement". Plus how are they going to find out?

so POST IT!!!!!!! @_@

I agree with Cmosfm.. did I spell that right? Whatever..

I'd love to see proof first. I also wanna see that picture. Because as you know, we won't believe anything you say until you show us a pic. ;)

I wish I was a Nintendo Rep. I was offered a job with Nintendo as a truck driver back in 1998.. but of course, at the time, I did not have a license. (I was 18, getting out of school, but had no job or car or license or anything yet, unlike most of the other 18 year olds in my school.)

Wish I had taken that. Wish they'd send it to me again, when Kmart goes under, I'd like a $10 per hour delivery job to fall back on... Especially with Nintendo. I wonder where that card went...

Too bad I'm terrible with directions and would probably be fired after a month for getting lost so many times. Unless they have GPS in their trucks.

...I hope my Famicom SP SMB arrives soon. Been 9 days. Should be soon.

Hopefully its not going to be super expensive... Do we know if that is going to be the color of the console or will it be something else?

Then again Sony still sells their limited edition PS2's for 319 and those are almost 2 years old.

I've heard similar ideas about the NES GBA SP. I don't work at a game store, so I've heard from other sources. I have not seen any pictures...yet..though I do think it is the real deal.

I hope it's true. I've bought a GBA Flame anyway, but I will totally sell it if it means I can get an NES version.. IF it looks good enough to appeal to me. I hope that picture you have is real and not just a paint-job. I really hope there's a similar deal.

Hell, even if they released SMB in an NES style box (Like the one on my shelf with that ultra cool retro pixelated artwork) I will sincerely buy it. So what if I have both? I just received my Famicom SMB today and it is great. Everything down to the detail in the packaging to the new features they added (Two player without a second game pack! Plus Wireless adapter compatibility.) just screams coolness. I will be getting the Famicom Zelda soon, but even if a US version also came out, I'd get that one too. Two of each. US and Japanese. Who cares? I will gladly spend the money on this stuff, provided they don't screw it up with a high price. ($30 is high enough for an old game, it doesn't need to be higher.)

Nintendo wouldn't let us down, would they? Japan always gets the good stuff. Would be nice if the US got something like that for a change. (I'm still hoping Donkey Konga comes to the US as well. If it isn't announced at E3, I will be importing it from Lik-Sang. Which by the way, just lowered the price $10.)

God.. I hope this isn't the beginning of an Importing disease. One imported Japanese game and I'm hooked! :D

no worries, its the real thing .by the way the already annouced that donky konga is coming to the us late this year.im curious if the art that makes the gba look like a famicom is a sticker or is it painted on?
