This is the best aswer. When I trying to save money to buy some games that are US$ 15,00, people are spending money on ICQ numbers. Maybe they can borrow me some cash...

Yeah, this is bad.
I have a friend who introduced me to ICQ way back in the day. His number was even lower. It was 19**** (don't remember the rest).
A year or two later, after ICQ got real huge, somebody hired a hacker to steal his account! Some hacker broke into his account and changed the password. There was nothing my friend could do about it. Of course, he didn't care a whole lot about the account, other than the inconvenience of having to tell all your buddies you got a new one. It was the invasion of privacy that cheesed him off.
I actually talked to the guy who stole his account. I started talking to him as if he were my friend, and he says "Uh, this isn't his account anymore. I hired a hacker to steal it." I asked him why in the world he would do such a thing, and he said "'cuz it's a low number."
I bugged him about it a little more, but he must've blocked me.
That whole "elite" crap -- ooh, I was one of the first people to use ICQ! x_x -- really pisses me off. IMO, people like that are among the worst society has to offer and all need to be tied up and beaten with large fish.

What ARE the lowest numbers for ICQ, anyway? I got mine in the fall of 1998 and my number starts with 16.

ICQ stinks. I was prompted by a friend to try it out about 3 years or so ago. The damn thing kept crashing whenever I tried to sign on. I uninstalled it and never bothered with it again.

What kind of bugs? I've never had a single problem that I can remember in years of using ICQ. In fact, the only thing about the program I ever had a problem with is the stupid way they set up their file sharing system in the recent versions.

Sometimes you send a message, but the receiver don't receive it, and sometimes you don't receive the messages sent by others. Well, ICQ is not that bad, but needs to be improved to be excellent.
