I'm surprised 4 people actually feel for this scam. I would think the long white stretch of nothingness would at least get a O_O , or maybe it's cause I ALWAYS check shipping costs.

I actually tried one of those places once. i spent 15 for a ps2. the only reason why these people are selling on ebay is 2 reasons:

1.) make a little side money

2.) if somebody else get put into the matrix, than it will further help the seller to get the item they want. i tried to do this with a 12 person matrix, and only 8 people got into the matrix.

i did this before i got any common sense (some of which i am still searching for)

Well i still think it's pretty pathetic to put it like your actually going to buy an item...and then the fucker leaves a big wide gap and in small letters inserts...Note: This auction is for information guaranteed to get you an xbox for 30 bucks :eek 2: ....someone should email these ppl that bought this crap and ask them if they know what they're doing...and i didn't know that ppl who were no registered on e-bay could sell items.... :eek 2:

I always wonder what happens to people like this. Here's someone who joined EBay, and sold some stuff. Got some positive feedback, looked like a nice and safe seller, and then a few months pass. All of a sudden, WHAM! He's scaming people, and now he's been booted from EBay. He can't be sued cause it DOES say what the item is but if it's a pyramid scam that CAN be investigated by the authorities.

Does this really works? They ship internationally? How much you paid on your shipping?

[-sentinel-]: This is basically a scam. They are not selling you a PS2 or XBox for little, they are selling you "information" on how to get one for another 30 bucks. In which you basically need to get others to do the exact same thing that just happened to you. Dont bid on one, dont think about it. This is just a way to try and scam money out of people.

I see. Things don't go so easy on that way. Thanks! :D

73% positive, already not a registered user.

At least other people are more blunt that its only the information you are bidding on. This guy is an ass, and deserves to have all of his ill gotten possessions repoed.

Stupid sellers?!?! He made a lot of money for not doing much and he stated that it was only info.. Still he is a dickhead for hiding it but the buyers should read the whole description.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, let the buyer beware. Do I think this guy was trying to scam people? Definately. But were all the facts present if the buyers weren't too lazy to fully read the auction description? Absolutely!.

Just because this is the Internet doesn't make scamming people right.
And just because you present all the facts doesn't make it right.

Any court of law would give the buyer his money back on scams like this. Yes the judge would say the buyer was an idiot , but they would give the buyer his money back.

Fraud is fraud and a scam is a scam.

Oh, believe me, I understand that fraud is wrong but as often as this happens on ebay there's just really no excuse anymore for not reading the full auction description of what you're going to buy.

There's a new post about this sort of stuff on these forums almost every other day and honestly when the auction says that all thats for sale is info I just don't feel sorry for the bidders anymore. I feel the same way about people who complain about excessive shipping when it clearly says in the auction how much shipping will be.

I'm with you also.

What you are buying is listed right there. He did make is so where a newbie wouldn't know, but it's not like he actually did something illegal on eBay.

Yeah, the seller is a fucktard, I'm not taking up for him. But instead making fun of the people that actually FELL for it! dumbasses

This did not work for me, and unless you get registered with a large "matrix" site when it first opens, that chances of it working for you are extremely slim.

This is the way it it is supposed to work:

You buy a eBook (prices usually range from 10-250 or so depending on which "prize item" you want to enter for)

After you buy the eBook, you get put into a matrix for a free prize. If you are the top person in the matrix, you are up for the prize. once the matrix fills, you get the prize. if it is a 50 person matrix (which i have seen on websites), you have to wait for 50 people to get put onto the matrix for you to get your prize.

Here is the way it really works:
This is how the person pays for these items. I will just give you my example of what happened to me. I paid $25 to get put into a xbox matrix. 8 people including myself got into the matrix, and I guess that nobody else wanted to be a part of this site (which happens all the time). 8*25=200 that this guy just made from opening up a website and e-mailing out some ebooks he got for free. now if all 12 people had filled up the matrix, he would have made 300 - 200(price of the xbox) = 100 he made. so for every xbox he sends out, he makes 100. now if people stop visiting the site, than he can keep all the money for himself.

There are literally hundreds of matrix sites out there. the main reason for people selling the information off is because of what happened to me. they want more people to go to these sites so that theyu can get their free prize. They don't give you information, they give you a link to a website. Back when I was looking into matrix sites, this would be almost the exact thing I would e-mail to the bidders of auctions like these:

"Information is Free. Keep it that way. This Message is from a fellow eBayer who thinks it is wrong to sell links to web pages that you can get for free. Do not worry, you do not owe me a dime. Please talk to eBay about retracting your bid. Here are 20 links that you would have had to pay $10+ for:

[here is where I would provide at least 20 links to matrix sites]"

Some people will bid on these knowing it is information, so I go one up on these sellers and get all their bidders, but now there are so many people out there doing this, that there is no possible way that I could even get 10% of the bidders from these.

Huh. I've always wondered how those "info" things worked.

Sorry I had to learn it through your bad experience though.
