oh my god.......my dreamcast just broke..........

:cry: :cry: :cry: can anyone give me a little insight as to why perhaps, or how to fix it? I was just sitting there playing marvel vs capcom 2..and I pulled on the controller a little once and the console moved ever so slightly..and the picture on the screen froze..so I turned it off and it wouldn't load the game again. it just gave me the startup screen and when i went to "play"..it said please insert a game disc..I only own one other dreamcast game and it wouldn't play either..the games are originals, not burned copies. any help? :cry: maybe I'll just go to gamestop today and buy a ps2 for something else to take up my time..but anyway I'd like to fix this!

first thing to do is open it up and take a look around. might be a loose connection. If you don't see anything re-seat the ribbon cable that goes to the gd-rom drive. did you smell fried chips during this episode? if so you can buy another one for 39.99.

if i ever get a disk read error i just clean off the disk a little bit, and blow into where you put the CD in....than it works fine...But like the guy above me said, it might be a loose connection or something..... :huh:
