I saw Grooverider, a slot-car racing game by Encore, at a GameStop yesterday, and it wasn't a game I'd heard of before. I guess there's also a PS2 version... But is this title a bit uncommon, or just not very well reviewed/publicized?

I've never heard of it either. I'm guessing it must be like Starshot on the N64, never heard of by most people.

You're talking about Grooverider: Slot Car Thunder, right?
I believe it was a $15-20 budget title released on all 3 systems. XPlay did a review of the Xbox version a few months back... one of the few that Morgan has actually written herself...

Yea it is suppose to take slot car racing (HO scale) and make it faster and you can switch lanes. Intresting plot, I havn't played it though.

I've played the 'Cube version, and I have to say that there's a real reason it was a budget title. Awful game. Maybe it was the fact that you had to use the GC's shoulder buttons to switch lanes, but it was real slow to respond. The courses are more about rote memorization than actually being fun to play through. Think Army Men meets F-zero meets Micro Machines, but poorly executed.
