Do these always go for this much in that condition!? If so, that sucks! I remember these being 30 bucks at TRU a long time ago. Then they lowered them to 15 bucks. Its like the nes top loader...50 bucks new, but now one in perfect new condtion would go for about 125 or more.

I also like how the guy switched the official controller for a shitty offbrand one.

ahhh... I thought I was in the ebay insanity forum. Moderators...do your magic!

Nah they don't usually go for this much.

And I love the "New in Box " Crap

Lol, Jon, good comment :D

Well, I got a boxed (perfect box) SNES Model 2 along with a ton of games (including Secret of Mana) from a forumer for $150 last year.

I found a Model 2 yesterday for $5 -- it had everything you see in that picture minus the box, and also had a nice offbrand controller in addition to the pack-in controller.

CHECK DA THRIFTS!

I love how "Top Loader" is used in the header. Like there's any other kind! Now an NES would be a different story.

Good to know. I have one of those I picked up at TRU for $40 when they started to clear them out. The only problem is picking the right time to sell. I already have a couple yellowed ones to play on.

$40 clearing out price? At the TRU by my old house, they were $40 at first, then $30, then $15...but I never boutght one...I jsut remember always looking at them thinking how gay I thought they looked.

$40 was as low as the SNES got at my TRU. The genesis core system made it to $19.99. I wish the snes went down to $15 near me, I would have bought 4 of them.

Who cares? Just get a og snes anyways, that way you get s-video.

Almost everything on ebay sells for more than it should.

i know that sometimes less common = more money, is there any other reason to want a model 2 besides that and it being smaller? are there any devices that dont work with an SNES 2? pros? cons?

i got a boxed one myself...

Ooh, I've got one! Mine also came with Kirby Super Star, too. Also, I've noticed that the SNES 2 above has a third-party controller.

sniperCCJVQ, how much do you want for that SNES 2? I don't really need one, per se, but I'm still on my original SNES console (which I bought 11 years ago) so it wouldn't hurt to have a back-up...I assume it can use the same hook-ups that the first SNES uses?

Well, I like the look of the snes 2 and the only difference is that it limits you to strictly a/v connections instead of that and the RF.

I just like the original. I love Donkey Kong Country. The game rocks

Well, I have the SNES A/V cables so that wouldn't be a problem...

nesuser2
03-21-2004, 04:26 PM
Actually, before I hook this up....I bought a SNES 2 a while ago to just replace my original. Didn't get any hookups or anything for it but I have the madcats Svideo cables that work for all current consoles.....so, will the SNES work on the gamecubes plug running on Svideo? I had a problem getting my PSone to work on it is why I ask

I've sold 6 Snes Jr.'s (2) loose with 1 controller and a common cart for $60-$80 and 2 boxed ones at $112 and $180 (thought the 180 came with a loose FF-III.)

The lowest I've EVER had a Snes Jr. go for was $60 with a game and controller.

The market holds what it holds on ebay.

Nintendo cut corners on the SNES Jr. so it only does Composite (yellow/red/white) the little Snes does NOT do S-Video so I sell em except for one I keep just for my collection.. it NEVER gets plugged up.

The original SNES is FAR surperior to the Jr. model as it outputs S-Video and RGB so you can use a SNES with a arcade monitor. Nothing like the crispness of playing Final Fantasy III on a nice TV with S-Video in. 8-)

Now I don't feel bad about not trying it yet. However, I'm not sure if the unit will even jump down and use the composite unless I unplug the Svideo which is a royal pain. Seems to me that they should have skipped S-vid and went straight for component.....that way more TV's had component LOL

Well, I'll have to say sorry but I won't be buying that SNES 2 after all...I started looking around at Ebay and wound up bidding and winning an SNES with 8 games...this is the original model and not the SNES 2. The ad lists the games but there's clearly some misspelling. One game I can't figure out at all. The title is listed as "raptom". Any idea what that might be?

As a guy who has free storage and money in savings I like to use my purchases wisely. I only sell VG systems and carts I find threw the year after Thanksgiving so all auctions end at least 2 weeks before Christmas :D

People need dem Top Loaders and 2600's a LOT more for that perfect X-mas retro gift.. only time I will sell VG stock on Ebay.

Also some of those auctions say "reserve not met" and the sellers didn't use any *PAZZAZ* or *RAZZLEDAZZLE* or include the "best game made for the system - SMW" or "DKC" Also you got to include the "MINT, not a scratch!" or the "Tested and Working like new!" or my fav. "FREE TRACKING AND Insurance!" I ship fedex ground and insurance and tracking is free.

yet.. many got up to $60 anyway after the $15.00 ($6.00) shipping.

Anyway huys, if you want one of these, I find them at pawns and flee's all the time for $10-$20 box or no box.

Until now, the only device that dont work with the SNES 2 is the Accclaim's Wireless controller. It doesn't "work" because the IR receiver doesn't fit into the two controllers plug. The space between the hole on the SNES 2 is smaller than the SNES 1. But, i guess it's not a big deal anyway.

Hey Raedon -----

I'm not saying you are I wouldn't make $60 or more for an SNES Jr. ;)

I always get max profit on Ebay.

I was just showing that the SNes Jr. in the topic was kind of a fluke.

And I know that the DP Forum members are the cheapest people on earth. So I was making sure that they knew you could get an SNES Jr. cheap if you look.

If I sold one on Ebay though, of course it would be at least $60 if that's what the market would take.

I got an SNES Jr. in just about MINT condition with all pieces (box, styrofoam, even the baggies for each piece and the twisty ties!) for $35 about two years ago, used. Actually, it was missing the control deck manual. That's it. I still would like to find a second one of these, though I'm kind of pampered to find another with all the goodies much like this one, instead of paying $40 for the control deck and one controller only, used.
