Wow. (http://www.classicgamer.com/) :eek 2:
This is great news. I'm thrilled beyond belief that Manci Magazine is days away from arriving in my mailbox, and the UK seems to have a success story with RetroGamer Magazine. And let's not forget good ol' Digital Press that arrives monthly in my mailbox.
Now, my favorite retrogaming magazine is getting ready to relaunch on April 2. FOR FREE TOO! (Available as an on-line downloadable PDF.)
'Tis a fine day. used to be nothing covering the retrogaming scene, now there's a ton of pubs on the horizon. GREAT STUFF! :D

Uh oh, I hope all these magazines that are showing up don't lead to a retro video game magazine industry crash...

Ooooh, does this mean someone's gonna unzip me? :P
Actually, I was dropping hints about this over a week ago in the "Favorite VG Magazines" thread, but it may have flown under everyone's radar. And I've known about it for quite a while, because, well, I'm still on staff, y'know. ;)

I can't begin to tell you how jazzed I am about this!
Classic Gamer Magazine is my favorite, and the team that puts it together? Absolutely the greatest people I know. Cav, Snider, PDF... I'm just thrilled that it's HAPPENING again.
Count on me to do whatever I can do to drive traffic your way, Cav & team! Best wishes with the venture, I'm sure it will be a huge hit.

thats real cool that cav and gang are coming back to relaunch classic gamer magazine even though it's pdf form(I even do my newsletter in pdf form but I also do in print for those who don't want the pdf version(btw: the pdf version of the atari zone goes out before I actually send out the print versions))
anyways: I have all the classic gamers the print and the last one on pdf on a CD. It's good to see that retro gaming hasn't died.

Hey, if you're gonna get unzipped don't be dropping any "hints" around me, it's not my turn to clean up after you :D
Anyhoo, this is awesome news. Cannot wait to see what's new.

I remember the first go around I signed up for a full subscription before the Mag went bellyup. I still have them and they were very well done. I think I will buy one at a time this time..

that magazine can bite it.
i subscribed for a year, got only one issue and then they died.
I tried to find the old post, but I guess it's faded into the misty EZboard past. Cav promised to refund anyone's unused subscription quite some while back, and you could PM him here (his username is "Cav") or e-mail him through the address on the Classic Gamer website to remind him.

Hello everyone,
First off, thanks for your support, and I promise I'll have an official announcement regarding the re-launch soon.
However! I want to address the refund situation head-on. Can't say I'd blame you for being pissed if you are owed some cash.
So, consider this a public apology.
The fact is we took a pretty sizable bath trying to get the print version running. But that doesn't excuse me from not having to pay everyone back in some way, shape or form.
Believe it or not many refunds have been issued, but quite frankly I'll go broke if I do it all at once. And it was certainly never my intention to soak people out of their cash on subscriptions.
So, if you think you are owed something, please write to me ASAP at cav@classicgamer.com and I'd be more than happy to work something out with you. And if you want to talk about this "publicly" on the boards, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions or take my share of berating.
I'm pretty excited about how the new iteration of CGM is looking and I'm hoping you'll enjoy it as well. Only for free this time.
Oh, and a public thanks to Earl, Sniderman and Joe. They are some great guys and have been instrumental in this re-launch.
Thank you,
-Cav
