I'm a huge fan of the Klonoa franchise, but it's always bothered me that the first game was such a limited release. For years I have been unable to locate a copy worthy of purchase that was also for a reasonable price.
You can imagine my surprise then when I found this auction, which had been active for 21 hours without being bought out.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (with manual & the works) for $29.99 BIN price (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3086811540&category=62053)
Now I don't know if I've just been had, and I know a lot of folks around these parts would never pay that much for a used game - and I'm not even much of an eBay enthusiast - but this seems like a pretty decent price considering how sought after the game is.
Can't wait to play this one again. Best. Ending. Ever.

That a fine deal, $30-40 is about the going rate for Klonoa 1. The second is great as well, someday I need to track down Klonoa Beach Volleyball (import).

Thats not a bad price. Ive only seen maybe 2 in the wild ever. I got mine off of ebay too. All three Klonoa games out in the states are horribly hard to find. Good luck finding the GBA game, thats ones a bitch and a half to get, especially complete.

Correction: It USED to be tough to get, but if you check your local Target, you may be surprised to find a TON of them in those $14.99 endcaps near the checkouts. Get 'em while they're hot, Klonoa fans. :)

you may just jump off a bridge.
i love the surreal back grounds and music.
i got mine cuz a great review in gamefan. one of my best buys

Heehee... I have all three US klonoa games... I lucked out and found the 1st one for $18 complete at a gamestop. Klonoa rules and I wish they'd release more klonoa games in the U.S. (and Mr. Driller! Listening, Namco?)

Wow, is that for real? That's incredible. Where are they all coming from, I wonder? In any event, I still feel justified with my $30 purchase. The game is just that good. :)
acem77 - The ending is definitely a tear-jerker, but that's why I love it. It's not corny, and it's totally unexpected, because it doesn't really seem to flow with the light-hearted theme of the game. For that it stick s out in my mind, because these days it's so difficult to find a game with a memorable ending.
Gettin my Klonoa on Monday. Can't wait can't wait can't wait :-P

Yup, real as Deal-a-Meal. I got mine for full price too way back when, but I figured some peeps out there might not have picked it up yet. :) Go get 'em!

No Target's in my nearby area, but amazon.com has a bunch of these Klonoa GBA games being sold NEW, if anyone's interested.

Hey, I paid about $8 for Suikoden II. Of course, it was a rental copy and the instruction booklet was pretty badly damaged, but you can't have it all!

I don't like the GBA Klonoa much myself. Kinda dull and lifeless. I love the first game, though. I still need it for my PSX collection. :(

I don't really follow the GBA collecting scene so I'm a bit surprised to hear that the GBA Klonoa game was considered somewhat rare.... I bought a complete copy from someone on these boards last year for like $10 or less.

I'm just amazed at how closely the latest Spongebob game on the Game Boy Advance (Battle For Bikini Bottom) resembles the Klonoa series. There's a lot of the same action, with Spongebob incapacitating enemies, then jumping on them to reach overhead platforms. Anyone agree with me on this?

Then wait untill you see The Cat In The Hat on ps2, that one is a blatant Klonoa 2 ripp-off. Just look at this trailer (http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_catinthehat.html).

Let me clarify: I'm talking Door to Phantomile, not the GBA or PS2 one.
