I was thinking on jumping all over this one, but the seller doesn't have the best feedback, and picture is terrible!

And so I don't have to take a day and a half for the Edit function to work...
I can't tell if it's PAL or not. I don't have a PAL box pic handy, but it LOOKS like my NTSC box. Only time and the resulting feedback will tell.

I can't believe it lasted 10 hours. Was there a BIN or was the auction ended early? It's a pretty big gamble either way. But if it does turn out to actually be a complete NTSC version, then that will be the steal of the year so far.

It had a buy it now for 400$.. I was sitting there thinking if I should go for it.. and finally decided to pass it because it seemed too good to be true.. (i.e. possible SCAM!)

I asked the seller to send me pictures of the item.
He sent me a zip file containing the same tiny jpeg, and 2 adobe illustrator files!
He also send me a note saying he's going to be putting the cart only up with a buy it now of 350$.
This really really smells like a scam!

Even though you have to squint to see the picture, I think it's the NTSC version. He could have slipped a pal game into the box though. Nice steal for the buyer if it's legit.

Any time it says in an auction that they opened up a factory sealed copy of any game, just to show you the contents is either a scam or very poor common sense skills. Then to make it worse he doesn't even include a picture of the contents, which was his excuse for opening it in the first place...

I saw this last night and its nothin but a scam. His feedback alone shows he is a scammer. I was going to jump on it save for the pitiful picture, and his feedback sealed it.

Actually, I have additional pictures of the game, so I'll send them to you after this. But unfortunatly, they are the same format size. I don't have a digital camera to take them with, I had to borrow from a friend of mine. So taking another one would be a problem. Coincidentilly, your the 2nd person to ask for bigger pictures, but the other person said fine on the pics I sent and is pending approval from me to bid. I don't understand why there is a problem, the other 10 people who contacted me about the additional pics asked nothing of it, but whatever. I'll send the pics right after this letter, in about 10 minutes. Well, have a good one.

I understand, it's not a cheap or even regular priced NES game. If your concerns outweigh your need/want for the game, I suggest you not bid. As much as I would like to increase the size of the pictures, and have you as an additional bidder, I can't. At the same time, I am not going to lie and say nobody has contacted me on this item, in fact about 15 people have been added to the bidding list today. If it means you cannot bid on my auction, I am truly sorry, but there is nothing I can do. Good luck with all your ventures, either way, and have a good one.

Well, if your the winning bidder, then you get my phone number automatically. I don't know if you ever sold anything on E-bay, but if you didn't, do yourself a favor and create a sellers account. You'll see all the required information you must provide before being able to sell anything. I don't give my number out to complete strangers that aren't a winning bidder on an auction because it would alomost certainly get me some crank calls, which i really don't need, and wish to avoid. I'll add your name to the approved bidders list, but if you cannot purchase the item due to these conditions, I apologize, but there is nothing I can do. Either way, good luck in all your ventures, and thanks for the interest. Have a good one.

Yep, I've decided to test the waters here.
I've gotten enough information that I feel comfortable in attempting the buy.
I have asked for the UPC information, and if it comes through, and seems legit, I will send him the US Postal Money Order he asked for.
At least it's through Uncle Sam, and can be tracked.
Worst case, I don't get the info I'm looking for, and he gives me a negative feedback.
Like Willie, my gut tells me it's legit.
We'll see... :eek 2:

I was trying to fish it out of him with over half a dozen correspondance before the second listing.
At all times he avoided giving me any information or valid pictures on the item.

Any update on this?
orrimarrko
04-13-2004, 09:47 PM
Here's the update:
As of yesterday, "Damien" still has yet to return from his "business trip". His "wife" informed me that he was upset to learn that I had not sent the payment yet, and should have asked the question up front.
He was considering filing a non-paying bidder request with eBay.
Yet, no information.
I believe that it's total bullshit at this point.
I basically told her/them - I have a US Postal Money Order for $409 sitting here, ready to go.
It's very simple - give me the UPC number on the back of the box. It if's correct - I will Overnight Express the payment to you. Period.
I gave them my phone number at least 4 times, and urged him to call me ANYTIME.
No phone call, no info, no bullshit...
So, at this point, I anticipate that he will leave negative feedback. To which, i will blast the scammer.
I suspected BS, and am about 95% sure that I'm right.
It's so simple. If you want the money, and you have the item, it would take two minutes to look at the number and email it to me.
He hasn't, because he can't. He doesn't have it, so he has no clue what the real number is. Now, he's just waiting until the 10 days are up to notify eBay, and relist the scam.
That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.
Any updates to this saga will follow as they occur in real time... LOL

If he relists it, I will make the eBay name 'whats_the_upc_code_assface" and bid accordingly.
Well, maybe not. I'll think of something clever, especially if he has preapproved bidders only.

You should have asked before you bid and were obligated to pay for it, especially when it was so obviously a scam. I bet his "wife" is really his mommy and he's 14 years old

Yeah they actually made me change it recently. They said the old name was obscene. Even though I had it for 3 and a 1/2 years. So I picked another equally stupid name "mouseman140"

Well, here's the final update:
He copped an attitude, and I told him - no number, no money.
He threatened me with negative feedback (I have 100% for over two years, so I guess that's supposed to mean something), and a non-paying bidder request.
After thinking about it, I finally told him - no money, because I "just don't trust you." I actually had the money order in hand.
He actually had the nerve to say that I wanted the number so that I could use it to "scam other people". What a jackoff!!
My guess is that he'll do what he said, and leave the feedback. I'll respond with some of my own, and that will be that.
MY ADVICE TO ALL OF YOU...
I'm not a computer guy, so I don't know how to do this, but look for him to open another eBay account in the very near future. I promise that he will definitely relist that game in some way.
We should collectively tell him to go fuck himself! LOL
Bummer though - I would definitely have paid Four Hunge for a complete SE in that condition! :eek 2:
After dropping $125 on a minty Flintstones 2 with minty box, $400 for that SE would have been very cheap indeed.
Muse on, brothas and sistas...

Tha's what he said to me, when I tried to get a UPC response. Of course, he was quite silent when I replied back saying that I had the box (and showed him my site with the pic of the complete game), and I'm asking for it because I know you don't have it.
What a goon. This guy is going to get eGoofed next time he tries again. Hell to pay if he decides to use my pic! If he does, I can only pray he links to it from my site.
That's when I hold a mini contest for funniest image to replace it with. Hoo boy, I'm giddy just thinking about it. What I may end up doing is just stick together all the images for one mega goof image.
