Do the third party network adapters that I see selling on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3086644070&category=41059) in the $12.00 range work just as well as the official Sony ones which sell for about $25.00? I really don't mind paying the $25 if its a matter of you get what you pay for, but if the $12 ones work as well as the $25 ones then why pay more than you have to? Anyone try these third party adapters?

From threads I've read in the past at various websites... the answer is no they don't work as well with some games and some games they work just fine. If memory serves me correctly the MCII boards lit up with problems from third party NA users.

I spent the extra money on the Sony adapter and haven't had any troubles with NFS:Underground and Midnight Club II online.

What games do you plan on playing online and maybe you can search out some of the communities boards for more specific answers?

a good to place to look for more info: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board?board.id=ps2na

Well, if at any point you plan on getting the HDD (with or without FFXI) you should spend the extra $ right now and buy the official one, since it's required for the HDD to work.
