At my local EB, I noticed a Target Earth Genesis game that looked like a prototype, the label was completely white..and had the title, Sega logo, and the usual disclaimer stuff at the bottom

Does this sound like a prototype? Would it be worth anything? I don't think it was more than 5 bucks. I'm not collecting Genesis right now, so I didn't plunk down the cash, but if you guys think it might be worth something, I can go back and pick it up.... The NES/Genesis/SNES stuff hasnt been touched since they opened up a month ago

if it looked like this:

then it isn't a prototype

Yep, it looked like that. You answered my question perfectly

Darn, I thought I actually found something neat there :(

That sure is a wierd label for a regular game, never seen one like that

Also, if you see Wings of Wor or Fire Shark, they look the same way. Standard Dreamworks (not the Spielbergo DW) label.

I thought the same thing when I was browsing in gamestop. That artwork sure fools you. I immediately came home and googled for a picture, which turned out to be the same damn pic as the regular art.
