Hi folks,

I know this sounds like the biggest newb question ever, but I'm just getting into playing imports on my US PS2, and I was wondering what options I may have to get it to do this.

I was hoping to avoid adding any mod chips at all. I really don't care to go adding any extra chips to it, if at all possible. I've heard of some swap method, but I don't know how to do it, and I've heard of some slide card, but I haven't heard any user reports on how well it works.

Are there any other ways? Can some one explain the methods I mentioned a bit more and offer some advice?

Thanks so much!

I am also interested in this because I want to play my FMA demo.

There's nothing really that you can do that's safe. There is a swap method, but its risky and can damage your drive or cd (it also doesn't work all the time). Mod chips of course, if you screw up, will kill your system and void your warranty (well, that happens even if you don't screw up). A mod chip would be your second best bet, the best being buying a Japanese PS2 - but that's a lot more expensive. Personally, I'm waiting until the price drops in Japan or they come out with a shrunken" PSTwo" and grabbing one of those.[/i]

Get in touch with Netmech, LOD or loy and they'll mod your system no problem. Modchips are safe. Just don't do it yourself unless you're a hellagood solderer. :)
