I know it sounds weird but isnt there ones where you can play software not meant for newer comps on a emulator? like a couple of games (I cant get alone in the dark 2 and 3 to work on my comp)

Do you mean like Dosbox (http://dosbox.sf.net)? According to their webpage, Alone in the Dark 2 and 3 are supported.

Or how about Microsoft Virtual PC. Just read the description:

[Product Description]

Virtual PC is a powerful software virtualization solution that
allows you to run multiple PC-based operating systems
simultaneously on one workstation, providing a safety net to
maintain compatibility with legacy applications while you migrate
to a new operating system. It also saves reconfiguration time, so
your support, development, and training staff can work more
efficiently.

Virtual PC is the best. It'll run another version of indows in it's own, er, Window. You can run several at once, and it is very powerful software. There is a Mac and PC version. You could technically even run the same OS in it's own window, but wtf for?

You can even run Win3.1 for OLD games, and even windows 1 etc, I bet.

Seriously, no one should be w/o Virtual PC.

I've tried Virtual Pc and Dosbox and they both suck for games.
On my 2.8 ghz with Radeon 9000 graphics card and Windows XP, games are unplayable. Even Doom won't run fast.
Games run faster for me just running them from a command prompt.
