Well as for games I could take the GBA SP (it's silver) back to store since unopened and get 99.99 (plus tax). So basically maybe $100 worth of "interesting" games (check web page for an idea or run a list by me, complete "classic" RPG/adventure type mostly, console, old computer etc etc). As for the person who made the "dorky" comment about GBA SP for USED PSX2 consider the GBA is worth $100 (it is unopened). What is a used PSX2 worth? Try taking one to your local used gameshop, if you can get $100 for it I'll eat my "hat". Or try telling them you will trade your used PSX2 for one of their brand new GBA SPs. If they do it I will be quite "surprised" to put it nicely. Also PSX2 is old system, I'm betting it will be down to $129 brand new soon (in fact some game store owners have told me this also, gamecube is already 99.99). What will a used one be worth then (probably $60-80)? Bottom line to the "smart as*" poster, think before you stink........... If you don't want to trade just keep your mouth "shut"

I am not taking ANY attitude, just replying to a person WITH AN ATTITUDE. As you said used PSX2 maybe $120 AT EBAY WITH GAMES. So how much are the games worth, $10 or so each? So back down to $100 or under for the PSX2. And screw ebay, not everyone can sell there anyway, many people are limited to trading or selling at local shop. And anyone can take back the GBA SP if they wanted to, just say it was a "gift" and you already have one. YOU are ALSO not thinking it through. If I wanted GBA SP and had a PSX 2 I did not want I'd probably trade the other way. Future price consideration of PSX2 is not stupid either, if I own something I know will be losing value soon I would definitely think about selling/trading it before I took the "loss" Another unwanted unthought through comment, as I said "If you don't want to trade why not just be quiet". Do you think the traders here are not intelligent enough to make their own decisions?

Oops you said, $135-140, sorry, but same applies, how much are the games worth, probably still only $100 or so for the PSX2. And we are talking TRADE, two people trading items they don't want/need for items they DO want/need. No ebay fees, no hassles. I had three replies to my post, one idiotic nonsense, the other not thought through, the other person polite asking questions (hooray!!). I'm hoping for better, most people are smart enough to handle their own trades I think, don't need a "babysitter" or "grandma" to help them out.................. Whatever, post what you like. I only take attitude with people who take attitude with ME first.

If you take your "NEW SP" to a gameshop, will you get 100 for that? NOPE! And with your attitude twards everyone so far, why would someone trade with you? Youll probably take the PS2 and run.

"A used Ps2 with games goes for an average of $135-$140 on Ebay."

Perhaps you misread my post, I said I would trade for used PSX2 system (ie NO GAMES) "OR" some nice games.

"So try to stop and think yourself before calling other people "dorky, smart-as$ and telling them to shut their mouths"

And I most certainly DID think (try it yourself), my initial post was a simple trade post, system for system or system for some games. YOU should stop and think (or at least read and understand what the offer was) before YOU reply with a bunch of irrelevent nonsense about a trade you have no interest in anyway. The attitude I took was with a "DORK" who had NOTHING to say other than "LOL" Nuff said.....

Dave it gives me heartache, I am really a nice person, except when people take an attitude with me first. All I did is post a trade...... I am sorry to all people who had to listen to all this, I just can't stand people who have nothing to do with a trade or whatever yet feel they have to make disparraging remarks. I'm sure most of the people here are nice and I look forward to making some "even" trades, good for both parties.

Bottom line is I am sorry to the "innocent" parties who are just reading. I mean it. But I will not take attitude from people who have nothing to contribute. Maybe I should be more tolerant, I don't know. Sorry......

er.. if you can return it for $100, why not just do that and buy a used PS2 with the money?

Thank you, you have something to say :) Yes I could but I'd prefer a trade, if someone can get what they want and I get what I want that is good for both of us (and less hassle). Or I'd trade for some nice games as I said. I can't just go buy many of the games I want, they are too old. Thanks again for the "nice" reply, I am feeling better :) Have a great day, you should be a moderator here!!!

Well thanks.

I'm sure now anyone who reads this thread will realize what kind of person you are and NOT trade with you.

And that is great, because we at the DP Forums are like a family and we help each other out. And you have shown that all you want to do is put people down and not be reasonable.

And I wasn't trying to babysit anybody, but I feel like this is a family to me and when a NEWBIE steps in and starts running his mouth , I will step in and say something.

If you don't like it, WHO CARES !!!! You won't get your trade and you hopefully won't show back up and I'll be Happy. LOL

I'm sure now anyone who reads this thread will realize what kind of person you are and NOT trade with you.

That's right, I am the type of person who posts a trade expecting to hear from someone who might want to trade............ My reputation is flawless, I have been trading around the world for years (and I'll bet I've been a member of DP if not the forums longer than you) I guess with people like you (just you and the LOL person who now says I would just "take the PSX2 and run") I just have to grin and bear it, put on the "kid gloves" for an "old timer". I'll try not to get so angry in the future but I still think if a person has nothing to say other than to put down another person's offer they should keep quiet. Next time I'll just say "please don't make posts like this unless you have something to say" Have a nice day.

Take a look in the Good Traders thread "old timer" and you'll see that I have more trades than you could imagine.

There's not a person here who would hesitate to trade with me. They know they will get their item fast and as described.

And no-one said put on kid gloves for anybody.

But if you post saying you want to trade something on a public forum , you darn well better be able to handle it if other people take you to task for it. And judging by your replies you don't take criticism to well.

Well I have to respond one more time since you just won't quit. I have MANY THOUSANDS of trades, all around the world. That is not an exaggeration, literally thousands (since 1996). Perhaps you do have more, I don't know. But let's stop please, if you stop attacking me I won't have to defend myself anymore. I don't respond well to critiism when critisism is not waranted although I could have just ignored it all I guess. Or been a bit more polite. I'm not perfect, especially when I am attacked. Happy trading!!

I hate it when this stuff happens.

It's a dilemma. We ARE a tight community but sometimes I think we get a little UPtight too. Looking out for everyone on these forums is one thing but sabotaging the sale of any member, even a newbie, is a no no.

We need to decide as a community how to manage these things. I'll be honest with you - I'm on TomMage's side here - if he wants to sell it at that price, he should be allowed to do so. If someone isn't doing their homework and they proceed to make a bad deal, that person has no one to blame but themselves. If we ARE that tight of a community then what's stopping any member from asking another one if this seems like a good deal... privately?

And at the same time, if the deal or trade posted isn't reasonable, it should drop off the first page with no offers, at which time someone like TomMage can decide if he wants to change his offer or take his chances on eBay.

For now, I'm going to lock this post.

TomMage, feel free to "start over" if you're so inclined. Rest of forum, we need to consider this. Whether you realize it or not, by squashing a new member's sales you may also be cutting yourself (and everyone else) off of future GOOD deals with that person. Try to give the seller - and the intelligent buyers and collectors - the benefit of the doubt.
