I bought a bunch of snes carts at a little dump of a place. I was only interested in the BoF2 SNES cart($13), but the guy said take the last 5 SNES carts for $20, so i figured what the heck, "ok, i'll take em". Anyway, i got a DK Country 1 that i just CANT get working. I've seen some pretty corroded pins, and i've always gotten every crappy cart going. But this one... :o . Of course i opened it up, used an eraser...nope, tried the alcohol swab (which i personally think is useless)..nothing, i went and recleaned my SNES...nada. I even used (usually my last resort) a peice of 1500 grit sand paper...not a damn thing. However, i did some twisting and such of the cart in the slot, and i did get the RARE screen, but that happened 2 times and it loaded no further. Personally i think the PCM board is worn thin and not all the pins are making contact unless i physically twist the cart in the slot.

opinions please

thanks

using a game genie device or a Super 8? Many Rare games won't load in them. have you opened it up and looked at the board?

I've never found a completely dead NES or SNES cart.

Now Genesis carts I check ASAP. Gen carts left on the carpet tend to die I have learned.

I've seen a lot of Snes carts that do this.
Usually it is 1 pin that has a broken connection.
The problem is you usually have to use a multimeter and trace a lot of the pins before you find the bad one.
But it's really just a few minutes of work.
