I dont know if there has been a topic like this yet, but i have seen many saturn related topics on this forum(which is nice, because on most forums people laugh at you when you say that the saturn was anything but trash)...So, anyway i thought it might be cool to have a topic to discuss all things saturn related. Like what are the ten best games?(american, and jap) How many saturns do ya'll have? modded? painted? jap? I have a classic black american version from like 96. Not modded, but i was thinking of doing an all reagion mod, as well as paint it(maybe white, or two-tone white, and black).....so, yeah, like i said if there's already a topic like this i apologize.

The Saturn gets a bit more attention in the import forum, as it's such an import-heavy machine, and easy to mod. Not worth a chip to play imports though -- just get a 4-in1 cart.

A paint job would be quite kewl.

My top 10 games?

Keio Yuugekitai
NiGHTS
Magical Knight Rayearth
Princess Crown
Panzer Dragoon RPG
Panzer Dragoon Zwei
Space Harrier (yeah, not really a 'Saturn' game)
Virtua Fighter 2 (although I don't play it much anymore)
Daytona USA
Grandia

Yeah the Saturn does get quite a bit of attention around here, mostly good too.

I bought my model 1 Saturn at the GoodWill with two controllers for $13.00. After spending about $60 on games and cables and an AR 4-in-1 I was pleased to see that my $13.00 Saturn worked like a champ!

I've quickly built my Saturn library to a little over a dozen import and domestic titles in about a month and it's my new favorite system. :D

Currently playing:
Willy Wombat
In The Hunt

Coming soon:
Nights w/ 3D Controller

Next purchases:
High Velocity
Impact Racing

High on my immediate want list:
Gaurdian Heroes
Burning Rangers
Assault Suit Leynos 2
And a new shmup (too many good ones to list)

I just picked up two Saturn controllers from a thrift store for .90 and I must say as I played with it in line I thought it had a great controll pad. It's probably one of the best if not the best controllers of that generation. I never knew how to hold the N64 controller and the Playstation has too many shoulder buttons and a crapy Dpad.

The Saturn is the best forgotten system.

LONG LIFE TO THE SATURN!!!, itīs not THE system, but itīs one of my favorites...games like Nights, House of the dead, Virtua cop and Radiant Silvergun were the pillars of an excellent system

I just got done playing my Saturn today. I played Bug! which is better than I remember, but still not very good.

The only Saturn games I've played so far are mostly racing and sports games, which I don't have much interest in. I have played the Bug! and Panzer Dragoon preview discs, though, and they're great! I also have a Radiant Silvergun disc that I should be getting soon.

BTW, I've noticed that the little planet logo on the spine of my Center Ring Boxing is upside down. Does anyone else have anything like this?

I LOVE In The Hunt! I'm a big fan of all shooters so importing games for my Saturn was a no-brainer. I just got 3 new games in the mail today so I had a blast tonight. Played Wonders 3 Arcade Gears. I LOVE those 2 games...Midnight Wanders (Roosters) and Chariot. Also been playing lots of Layer Section and X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

Of the 14 systems I own, its definately one of my favorites. Warriors of Fate II and D&D Collection...definate must owns if you like the 2D beat'em ups!

a lot of press gets on the saturn for it's shmup lineup, and I won't argue it, but I'm a saturn fan for it's fighting games. probably the best 32-bit system for fighters, definitly blowing the psx out of the water when it comes to sprites and loading times (evidenced further by the dreamcast's superior fighter nature)...

Saturn is love for fighters, plus if you have an import cart or modded saturn you have a cheap Neo Geo fix :)

I love my Saturn.

I orginally bought it just to play "Guardian Heroes" but my collection for it has grown beyond that of my PSX and Dreamcast.

The only notable items i have for my Saturn are:

Japanese 3D controller - somehow this managed to find its way into my game store last summer.

Quirky import games (thanks for a few AdamG!)

I like to think the Saturn is my lucky system because i have never had to pay more than $20 for anything i have for it (minus the *NEW* Tenchi Muyo game). Good system, great scaling, and beautiful 2D graphics.

Yeah, since saturn was such a "failure" you can pick up games pretty cheap. Even in japan i got some damn good prices(list of games, and prices in american currency at the bottom) The one thing i dont like a bout the saturn is the cases the american games come in, they are big, and just kinda stupid-looking. I wish they had done their cases like the japanese saturn games(thoes look sweet). Also, anyone got a good saturn link? The only one i have is http://www.sega-saturn.com/

Fighting Vipers- 1.00
Rockman X4- 9.50
Christmas Nights- 2.00
Virtual Cop 2- 3.00
Panzer Dragoon 1 & 2 (with no case, but with instrucions in great condition)- 1.50
Twin Bee Delux pack- 19.00
Burning Rangers - 16.00

Hey, I need some help. Figures after just bragging about how sturdy may saturn was, and how i have never had any problems...Something goes wrong. Recently all the saves that were on the console(not on my memory card) were somehow deleted. Also every time i turn on the saturn the clock set screen comes up. These two things lead me to beleive that my internal memory is broken(or at least something in my saturn is). Has anybody else had this problem? could i just get a part, and fix it myself? how hard would that be? I can solder, and im ok at it, but im no wiz!

I've got the same problem...easily fixed though. The system's internal memory runs off of 1 or 2 (can't remember) flat button type cel batteries. CR1105 or something like that. They run about $2-3 a piece and they are easy to replace. I've recently re-hooked up my Saturn after being in storage for a year or so and when I first powered it up it went to the time/date entry screen. Still does b/c I'm too lazy to replace the batteries!

Just look for the battery compartment on the system and replace the batteries...that should solve your problem.

I think some soccer games :D

I like the system by the way it looks, a very cool system imho. Nice cases for the games to (PAL collector here). To bad i don't have much good games and buying them is a bit expensive here (i have to buy from outside the country if i want a nice game, or pay high prices ...).
My Saturn stuff;
- Sega Saturn Mk1. boxed
- Sega Saturn Mk2. boxed
- Sega Saturn Mk2.
- Virtua Gun
- Memorycard
- 20 games (with Saturn Bomberman, Darius Gaiden, Baku Baku, Virtua Cop 2 and Daytona USA as the best games in my little collection)

the main thing that makes bomber man fun is its multi player.
the sega saturn ver is up to 10 players. so that make it the best bomber man right there plus its is the old school bman no crazy lame 3d gimmicks.
plus it was the 1st console ver to go online with the netlink. the nice thing is that will still work cuz netlink games used direct dial to the other person.
so as long as you have an analog phone line you can play some1. no need to worry if the server will be shut down. i wish more console companies would let people us their own ip address to play online games if they wish.
one little game that is so fun for saturn most people dont know about is called death tank. there are 2 ver hidden on power slave and duke nukem.

The Saturn rules. I've been a supporter of the Saturn forever. It's def. my favorite system for many reasons. Some of my favorite games were released on Saturn import and domestic. It was always my opinion that the Saturn was the superior system to the PS when placed in the right hands. I have an original domestic Saturn which still works perfectly along with a White Japanese Saturn which is a streamed down version of the original. I think of all my game librarys my Saturn is the largest. I continue to buy titles for Saturn nearly 9 years after it was released in America. Mostly imports though, I pretty much have everything I think I want domestically. I would rank the Saturn #3 on the all time hardcore collectors list behind the AES and the TG16/DUO. LONG LIVE SATURN, LONG LIVE SONIC X-TREME!

THE ONE, THE ONLY- RCM
