Here is the story. I purchased an Xbox system, extra controller, a bunch of games, and a DVD playback kit last Friday. Since then I am realizing that I really much more need some components for my PC. I brought the system back to Toys R US today to see if I can get a refund. I knew I would have to be stuck with the games since I opened them, but was not at all aware that if the system was opened I would not be able to return that either...or the extra controller and DVD kit. So, here it is:

Xbox system complete mint...used probably about an hour total. Everything it originally came with is here obviously. Box...etc.

1 extra controller

1 DVD playback kit w/remote

The following games:

Halo
Grand Theft Auto Double Pack (GTA3 & Vice City)
Namco Museum
Intellivision Lives
Need For Speed - Hot Pursuit 2
Top Spin
SSX Tricky

Like I said, everything is in brand new condition. So flaws whatsoever.
I spent about $400 total not including taxes. I know I would take a loss on it most likely on ebay, so I figured I'd rather take the loss to some lucky member right here at DP. $300 takes the whole deal. Paypal only however. If interested, PM me.

O_O TRU wouldn't take the system back?

I know they won't take games back, but that is just unheard of! Yet another nail in the coffin for them. I hate their policies anyway, but that is just absurd.

Yeah, according to them because the seal was broken....pisses me off.

Well, I'll admit it sucks...but you can't expect them to do differently. I sure wouldn't want to go buy a new system only to find it used...to any degree. But this is a good deal...somebody snag this...please...

Yep, its a great deal. Too bad I have to take a loss on it, but I will be happy to at least get 3/4s of my money back and go buy this video card I need. I'll be at work until 3pm EST today, so if anyone pm's, I will get back to you the second I get home. First pm gets it.

I think I forgot to add the $300 INCLUDES shipping anywhere in the USA. If I get no takers by the end of tonight it's going on Ebay.

What about returning it as defective and then later returning the new one?...my best idea...or what autobotracing said..

No dice. If you exchange an open product, they open the new one before you leave the store! The other idea was good, but it's too late now anyway...
