So there are companies out there making new games for old systems most notably the Atari systems. First off I would really like to hear some feedback from people who have played some of these games. Second I know that many classic gammers are cheapskates and wouldn't dream of paying more than a few dollars for a game( these new games are asking $35-$40) so is the price stopping you from trying them. Third are these companies just wasting their time and money?

If you don't know what I'm talking about

Errr...the retro-programming scene's been around for years and years and there are tons and tons of homebrew games out there. And, yup, there are tons and tons of reviews for these games too.

We've really discussed this at length in the past and I was going to lock this thread. However, since the "search" feature is down, I can't point you to one of many threads already-in-progress. So, I'll have to keep this open for discussion.

EDIT: Well, I used Google of all places to find an appropriate DP thread. Here's a link to get you started, and this one is locked:

P.S. Go to Google and type in "homebrew". You'll find home-programmed games for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Colecovision, Lynx, Jaguar, Odyssey 2, Vectrex, Intellivision, and lots more!
