So,there are 3 different Gamecubegame-boxes:
1) The euro-version: Like DVD but with gamecube logo and memorycard "holder" (sp?)

2) the american-version: feels more robust than euro one; better system for holding booklets; the gamecubelogo on the spine is at the bottom (on the top in the euro-version)

3) the asian-version: special made; much smaller; looking awesome; feel awesome but with a huge failure: why do u have to pull the plastic-case out of an extra paper-cover? <-- it looks worn after some intensive use

now the questions:
why did nintendo use 3 different boxes? Why can't we all get the special jap. ones(too expensive?,the west-people more common with dvd-cases?)?

There is some strange thing onto euro boxes: what do the triangular tags on the spine of the cases mean? It's just on the euro ones. The triangular tags are at the bottom and mostly in purple (but some are in diff. colors too).
so anyone knows?
:?

well, japan always gets the coolest boxes, it's a fact. well they do have a lot more games that really can have beautiful artworks (all those weird genres not coming to us/europe) but i don't really understand it either but to be honest i'm quite lucky that the boxes are so small as i would be running out of space soon if they were big ;)

triangles on pal boxes: no idea at all, only about 10% of my games don't have a purple one, so it can't be a genre-specific or publisher-specific thing

I've got at least 1 game from each territory, and the JP games are in a different place than my EU and US games. I like the smaller JP cases better, and I dislike the EU ones the most (The look weird next to American games).

JP cases are smaller since space is at a premium, and most things in Japan are small anyway.

It just happens that the smaller JP cases are way cooler than the US/Euro ones.

The triangles are for the language of the instruction booklet.

Purple = german, lightblue is Dutch and so on.

About the boxes, i prefer the PAL above the american boxes because the discs are easier to take of the box with that pushsystem.

I love the japenese ones. I wish they would come to the states. They are the same ones that the GameBoy player come in.

I was just going to ask that.

I like the GB Player disc case, too, but if all the games came in this style, it wouldn't be as special. The current size is good for a bookshelf.

no that's not true, i've only got german releases and have different colors, purple, light purple and pink, don't have the time to check all languages right now, maybe some of those are french+german or dutch+german, you COULD be right thinking about it, gotta check this, very interesting
