March 29, 2004 - On March 24 Nintendo announced that it had signed a deal with UK-based development house Kuju Entertainment to publish an original action title for GameCube. No further details were revealed about the product. But a telling message board post and some past Kuju partnerships indicate that the company could be underway with an original Castlevania title for Nintendo's home system.
Sounds interesting I think it could happen :D

Hmm. Yes, this was discussed at the Castlevania Dungeon Forum, and most folks think it's a hoax. This was discussed a two days ago in IGN's Rumor Control column, and what's more, a forumer claims to have found some info about it (but the URL was "obscured):

Well, browsing the Konami Japan site and found a little bit of info.

CV:LoI will be ported onto the GC and PC. GC gets an exclusive. CV1 becomes playable after you beat the game. Also, Richter is an unlockable character. He was used to beta test the game so Konami decided to make him playable.

PC version gets an Omake directory and a Screen Savor, and Richter as a playable character as well. Also comes on a DVD rom, like MGS2.

Late 2004/Early 2005 scheduled release.

Man I'm glad! I've been hoping this would get ported since I don't havea PS2. Now I can finally play it on PC.

Guess you GC fanboys get a CV after all...
Whatever the case is, this is almost certainly not a new title.

Oh, come on, you guys! Is this some kind of April Fool's Day joke? Listen to all these ridiculous names. Game Cube? X-Box? Playstation? What is that, the official game system of NASA? Ground control to Major Tom... send me another cartridge because this one's getting boring! And Dreamcast! Man, that is the worst one of all! Ha ha! That sounds like something Boy George would play.
