I have just finished porting two more MSX games for the CV: Konami's Road Fighter and King's Valley.
Road Fighter is based on the popular arcade game (also released for the Famicom/NES). It’s a racing game where player needs to avoid other racer and collect fuel points in order to reach goal line. 6 different courses, a race map and fast paced action (and I mean fast!).
King's Valley is a platform/puzzle game where you need to collect all treasures inside several pyramid, avoiding mummies and using tools when necessary. The game offers 15 challenge pyramids to explore, mummies with different attack patterns and several tools and weapons.
From the technical point of view these games are somewhat “special” cause they require extra RAM built in the cartridge. So far I have they running on a specially modified version of MESS. I hope to have demo versions running in real hardware soon.

Hi Jeff, how are you doing?!
Yep, Sky Jaguar was released at PhillyClassic5, and I am now assembling a new bunch of carts to ship to pre-orders. Ping-Pong and Yie Ar Kung-Fu were also shown. Pac-Man Collection is pretty much halfway, but I still hope to have it finished this year. So I have a lot of games in the pipeline... :)

The guy who bought the first copy on eBay posted a review at my website:

And I paid just $100 for that review.... ok, i sent him a sealed copy of Super Sketch too, but I think it was well worth the price... LOL

No, those pesky pop-up ads are really throwing this computer off today. Sorry.

So that's Road Fighter! I saw that in an arcade many, many years ago and have never been successful in identifying it. (After all, it's pretty hard to single out one racing game from so many others.)
Off I go to the MAME depository! There weren't any sequels or anything to that game, were there?

Is the original reservation system still good?
(I have you placed in slot #16 and #17 for SJ.)
Or do we go thru Atariage to get it??

I don't think there was an official sequel, but Checkered Flag was probably inspired by it. Also, I think the MSX game F1 Spirit was probably started as an unofficial sequel.

Hmmm.... that's a difficult question even to me. As strange as it can sound, I am still negotiating with Albert about distribution. I know for sure I will have a new batch of nearly 50 Sky Jaguar cartridges ready next Monday (April 12th). All pre-orders will be notified by then. I wanted to make this new release widely available immediately after PC5, but unfortunately several factors prevented me from doing so: money, manufacturing capabilities, distribution capabilities. You see, I must single handle the whole process, from programming, to manufacturing, to distribution. It isn't a small task.
At least, this time I am making sure SJ will be made available as a large batch from start, as opposed to several small batches as was the case with SIC.
So, if you want SJ right now, the best option would be AA. Beside your copy would arrive sooner. In other hand you are probably going to pay a little bit more if buying thru AA Store.
I think all things accounted for, I do like to be small. It's all about the joy of producing each individual game, which I do with extreme care. To me it's one of the many good things about this hobby.
