POLYBIUS EMULATION PROGRAM DISCOVERED
The long rumored rom file for Polybius has been located. While the Polybius file will not operate in MAME, it does have it's own emulation program. The Polybius rom is embedded within the file, so simply download the program and run the executable from the GDG NEWS page:

WARNING: Be sure to familiarize yourself with Polybius, as it is known to have severe results for past users. GDG recommends that you read the Polybius Article in the GDG ARTICLES section to make absolutely certain that you wish to run the program:

I thought the second stage was rather....odd.
Didn't feel anything tingly though, just this weird sensation to sell all 4,000 of my games and go work for John Ashcroft.

That was brilliant! Spoilers [Highlight]: If someone were to modify the code so it set your computers clock ahead an hour or two, the joke would be complete! :)

Be sure to familiarize yourself with Polybius,
as it is known to have severe results for past users.
Oh please, you guys know better than that :D
It's not unheard of for games to have their own standalone emulator, but I wouldn't have thought people were still making them with embedded ROMs (for various reasons, mostly legal).
My thoughts..? It's either a real arcade game or it isn't, and the "warnings" are just humorous. The game does not cause any problems for those who play it.
I'd be surprised if it was a real game, though.

LOL Oh, man. That's rich--what a shoddy attempt! I had my hopes high, thinking that the hoaxster would at least try to keep me spooked. Instead, I'm presented with a Klik & Play wannabe! Thanks a lot. I suppose it was worth the laugh.
