I have started the WVGCA.
so far, from DP, myself, The Collector, and Charitycasegreg have joined up. Darth, i'm calling you out...i'm calling out all the wisc DP members to join up! Our first "meeting" is going to be at the Midwest gaming classic www.midwestgamingclassic.com so everyone check out my site. i just threw up the site this morning waiting for a trader to come with my game gear(they never came - forgot it AGAIN :angry: :angry: )

How do you join? I can't figure it out on your site.

I don't know if I'll be making it to the Midwest Classic or not, but if you're going to have regular meets where people meet up and play a bunch of games, that sounds pretty cool to me.

Calling me out, young grasshopper?? LOL Dave(dave2236) and I were just discussing this with Rich (goodwill hunter) about having a semi annual swap/collector's meet. Dave and I should be at MGC so we can discuss it there. I agree with Christianscott, you should also post this at AA, there are some people there that don't post here.

I know you are looking for an atari, bring your N64 boxes and manuals and I may be able to trade you for one (along with your SNES stuff). I'll drop you a PM on this.

Look for one to come up in summer or late fall in the Green Bay area. Dave and I are planning on having one. It just a matter of timing. We don't want to have one too close to CGE and not too far in to winter. Dave or I will post at a later date on this.

I think the club should be at the very least (I think more so) equally about playing as it is about collecting. I mean all the people that I know just don't like the old stuff. I do. It is fun to competitively play old games with other enthusiasts.

What day are most of you guys going to the Midwest Classic? Saturday? Sunday? Or both?

hey that is sweet....im am SOOOO in that.....i am only 14 though lol.....i am hopefully going to the midwest this summer....oh yeah i live in central WI for about 5 more day....and then im moving to about 7 miles away from minoqua....oh yeah im going to live in flea market country!!!!

yeah i know the feeling lazingblazers, no one i know around here appreciates an old NES. someone actually THREW ONE OUT LAST WEEK, i cussed them out good. i woulda took it!!!
but yeah i'm gonna try to get to the midwest gaming classic both days. i dont want to drive cuz im a really bad driver lol so im looking to bum rides.

perhaps sometime this summer we should organise a wisc classic gaming tourney. Does anyone by chance have a nes world champ 90 cart? It'd be great for a tourney.. lol. thats a shot in the dark..hrm...darth? Got one? lol.

Hey, it's your club and you call the shots... but I just had a thought:

If this does in fact get organized, and us fellow Wisconsinites have meets, how would it sound that certain people are sort of in charge of certain systems? I mean that I can bring the TurboGrafx-16 stuff to any prospective meets. I have the whole library with the exception of Dynastic Hero, Magical Chase, and two of the three worthless novelty naked lady picture discs. So if somebody else has a dump load of NES, they bring that. The next person has a huge Genesis collection, there you go. Joe Blow 3 has a lot of Neo Geo stuff, etc. Just a thought. Anyway, where are you located Krazy_kamino?

I'd have the genesis covered. :D Rich had mentioned that Sean Kelly has a post CGE get together at his store (at least last year he did), maybe we should hook one up in the valley (appleton/oshkosh). A central location for everyone, probably be easier to get more people to come, but it doesn't really matter to me.

@Krazy_kamino: got your PM. Sounds cool, but don't know how often I'd be able to contribute or attend. Plus I'm not much of a collector anymore, just more interested in the history than having the stuff. Still, it's great that something is being publicly organized for Wisconsonites.

@ lazing: I think that'd be a great idea, since everyone does have their own "Zone" of collecting....you got the TG stuff etc....i am much too omnisystem to specialise in one system although i'd like to finish my usa virtual boy collection.
I'm in plymouth, wi, near sheboygan. it sucks! lol.
i'm up for anything you guys wanna do though, as far as a competition/trademeet/etc.....as long as enough people will be there, i'm up for it....anyone who wants to host an event email myself and i'll get the news out pronto!!!!!
Personally though i would infinitely prefer the green bay location; got nothin against ya milwaukee gang but i know the streets of gb better than i know milwaukee ; i've actually driven solo to GB but never mil-town.
but, like i said, whereever more people can make it.
maybe a weekend would work best.....trademeet and gaming tourney at once. Anyone willing to sell outright at the trade meet? i dont loosen my death grip on my carts, ever. LOL .

Well i gotta update the WVGCA homepage add some members, attend to some other things....I'm offering a super-blowout on my remaining boxes and manuals by the way. If anyone has a spare atari 7800 with a controller, or a loose atari 2600 SIX SWITCH(i already have a four) with the AC, i'll sacrifice my remaining stack of boxes and manuals....for the 7800 i might even be persuaded to dump all my xbox gamecube and ps2 boxes and manuals in the box too.
